Something really weird happened with Lucas this morning.  He got on top of a cat tree I have, not that tall, and I saw him on top last night and since he looked happy I decided to leave him there, even though he always sleeps on my bed.  Well, this morning I heard him screaming because he wanted to get down and he couldn't.  he tried and tried and he couldn't so I took him down, he then calmed down and got on my bed and he is asleep now. I think it must be the prozac, maybe he was feeling dizzy or something?  I don't know ,, but I feel horrible for not getting him down  last night, perhaps he spent the whole night trying to ge down and couldn't,  I'm so sad and  worried.  I hope he doesn't have any pain, I don't think so, if this continues I will call the vet.

oh tammy, he looks so good! I'm sooo glad the prozac is working :vibes:
Wow look at him hes a completely different cat since I started in this forum,
I'm glad everything is going well and I hope it continues to do so

And about the cat tree incident,i think it's the prozac and him getting used to it
Cause sometimes when the dose us settling things either looka lot further or closer
As if we looked into someone elses eye glasses... Or it could be that
Hesnot sure how to get down, next time give his butt a lil shove when he is trying to get down
So he'll jump down do he'll see that it's fine, hope all is well and continues to be
Xoxo

Thank you so much, that is exactly what I was thinking, I think Lucas needs a lower dos of prozac, I have a vets appointment for Lucas in two weeks.  The vet told me that was the plan , to start on 5mg so that he will be able to either giving a higher dose if necesary or give him a lower dose.  I hope we can start giving him a lower dose so he can feel better.. I will just do whatever the vet tells me.

Lucas has been doing pretty well today, he was able to get off the bed, but not the cat tree.

Hugs, to all:)

Wow! what a change!

I'm so glad to see your boy doing better.

Hopefully you can lower the dosage soon, but he'll keep on improving.

Thank you! I'm going through some trouble with Lucas, but it has nothing to do with his skin, it does has to do with stress though.  My cousin is visiting us, she lives in the US, and she is staying with us for a week, and well, Lucas is very sensitive to changes and I noticed today that his lupus is getting out of control again, his eyes look awful with a discharge and he also has some black crust around his mouth and he has a fever.

Lucas has two problems , the lupus and the skin problem , both caused by stress.

I feel bad because I love my cousin, but I hate the fact that her being here is harming my baby, I don't mean to be mean, but he has made so much progress and  now this.  I feel angry because I have to be out everyday and take my cousin to the beach and "have fun" while my boy is suffering. NOT FAIR!

I"m not a happy mom today :-(

Oh tammy I'm so sorry to hear this :vibes: :vibes:
I think you should start having her spend more time around lucas
So it won't be much stress to him when she visits, maybe give him extra attention
And toys while she sits next to him so he takes her presance as a positive
Thing, then have her join in with the lucas lovein! And have her do this
With you for as n hour before you guys leave and when you guys come back
Cause I'm sure hes very upset about not being the center of attention when shes there
So the sooner she starts making him her center of attention I'm sure he'll
Start to ease up on the stress, hope all goes well keep me updated, and dont queue
Tammy your a good mama kittie!! Xox

Thank you so much, that is a very good idea, the thing is that to make things worse, she is allergic to cats, so she tries not to touch him when she is here and she really doesn't like cats, and I think he notices that.   She will be leaving on Sunday.  I just hate to see him stressed.  I even gave her my laptop so she can use it in her room so she wont have to be near Lucas.

HOW ON EARTH COULD SHE NOT LIKE CATS!!! And of all things
How could she not love lucas!! Hes just adorable!
Well I think she should start stocking up on allergy meds
Cause that kittie needs to feel the lucas lovein'
Well in case thats not an option have her sit in the same room
Not to close of course lol, and have her throw him some treats and
Toys at a safe distance, and have her praise him for being such a
Good boy! As long as he feels comfortable around her presance
I'm sure he'll feel much better about her visit
Good luck tammy hope all is well! :vibes:
Btw, nena is sooo adorable thanks for posting her pics in the
Calico picture forum too cute!

Thank you!  My cousin left today, I tried to get him to get used to her, but since she was leaving and he wasn't comfortalbe around her I decided to just keep him away from her, in my room.  He is doing so much better now, lots of hair growing and he doesn't scratch at all.  He is eating well, but he doesn't want the Natural Balance food anymore, so since he is not allergic to food like we tought,  I bought him some cans of purina one chicken and he is loving it.  And I'm also givning him kitten wet food because he has lost weight.  I can't wait to go to the vet so he can adjuts the prozac dose, he is still too sleepy, but Im not too alarmed because he is eating and drinking well.

Here is an update photo,

Day 20 of prozac

here is his cute little face, he looks so sleepy, mo poor guy! well, at least he is not scratching anymore:)

Thank you so much!  I couldn't be happier right now, I thought Lucas was never going to recover and that was killing me.  Weve been through a lot  and he as been on every possible treatment, even alternative medicine without any positive results. Now thank God we are on the right track and hopefully he will go back to his handsome self soon, he was such a gorgeous kitty!  I can't wait to see him  the way he was before, it won't be long now.

Yes, the vet will flip out !  He has changed so much in just weeks, I can't wait to take him there so they can see.

Wow!  What a marvelous turnaround!  So happy for both of you
.  Now if you can just get the dosage right so he's not so sleepy, but keep him from itching, things should be perfect.

Thank you, i hope we can give him the right dose so he doesn't start scratching again.  I read that sometimes if a kitty recovers he can stop taking the prozac, but that sometimes kitties needs to keep taking it for life, we'll see what will be the case with my Lucas.  The important thing is that he is feeling well, I was going crazy seeing him  injure himself everyday.  It was torture to watch, my boy has suffered a lot.

Thank you so much for all your kind words, you all are so sweet to my Lucas and to me::)  He is doing great, but I can't wait for Monday, I really want to take him to the vet because he is still too sleepy with the dose of 5mg and he still can't climb on things, he can climb to the bed, but when it comes to get down he can't, I have to get him down myself and that worries me. He also hates it when I pick him up he cries when I do it.    I guess I will have a talk with the vet and hopefully things will be solved, he is doing so much better, he is just not my Lucas, I want his personality back, I miss him so much.
