Just stopping by to let you guys know that our son was born early Tuesday morning!  7lb 10oz and 21.5" long.  He looks like his daddy with dark hair.  And a LOT like my DD too.  He is almost a full pound heavier than my DD was and 2" longer!  But I carried him a full week longer too.

I wasn't expecting to have a baby when I left the house Monday afternoon.  I'd have stuck around and done things like laundry and packing DD's bag!  I had an appointment with my doctor late in the day and I never got to go home.  I had preeclampsia bad when I went into labor with my DD that contributed to her needing time in the NICU.  So when a test I did over the weekend put me at a mild level for it again; my OB said it was time to have a baby.  He scheduled me for an induction the next morning but I had to have an ultrasound first.  That showed my labor needed to start sooner rather than later so I literally got walked up to Labor & Delivery.  I was waiting for them to come in with my meds and things while making a million phone calls when I started laboring on my own.  I still was given the meds of course and I ended up with a much quicker labor than with my DD; which was very nice.

Little Man is healthy and happy as any newborn could be.  It's nice having a tiny one to snuggle again!  And so far DD is doing well with him.  She is enjoying having DH around so much too.  My MIL should be coming for a week or two before DH goes back to work so I have some good help lined up.  I'm not sure she plans to do any night shift work; but I'll take what I can get!  My Mother is local too.

You might not see as much of me for a bit.  It kind of depends on how full my hands are on a day to day, minute by minute, basis.  But I'll be back!!

Congratulations!  Good to hear that the Little Man is happy and healthy (and his Mama, too).

Thanks everyone!  His name is Jonah.
I'll add a pic here; but we are doing newborn photos sometime this week so I'm sure I'll have better ones!!  He was about a day old here I think.  Maybe less.

Thank you!

She has done very well with him so far!  This morning I got her in her chair for breakfast and she noticed he was sleeping in his bouncy seat nearby.  She said "It's baby!" all happy.  So I said "What's your brothers name? Say Jonah!" and she replied "No his name is Baby!"
She's had a bit of a vocabulary explosion recently and is just starting to come up with good sentences like that.  The first morning we were home she got down next to him in the seat and was just gently stroking his hair.  Maybe teaching her to be gentle with the cats helps?  They don't really put up with her touching them much at all though.  I do think it helps that my DH has some time off of work so she's been getting a lot of attention.  She's Daddy's Girl anyway.
