Hi Guys

I am from Hong Kong.

I currently do not have a cat, but my wife has been bugging me to adopt one.

I am here to learn more about these little friends, and prepare to take better care of them.

Look forward to interact with all of you.

Cheers!

George

Welcome to TCS George! You've certainly come to the right place. I can't wait to hear about when the right kitty chooses you.

Thanks guys, I think I'll start with learning their types of cats and their behaviors.

Hm.  Are you considering a shelter cat or a pure breed?  I think most of us here would encourage considering shelter cats; since so many are available and they aren't much different than a pure-breed cat much of the time (at least that is my opinion).  Except in price.
I've had a total of 8 or so cats and all have been mixed in their breed.  Only one has a parent with an identifiable lineage.  They are all different in their ways.  I think it takes playing with them sometimes to get to know their personality.  Out of those cats I've had everything from the super friendly to the super skittish to downright grumpy unless she wants you to feed her.
But I wouldn't change a thing.  I've loved them all.  For me; when I have met the right cat I knew.  My "soul mate" kitty I picked out when she was 3 days old.  I was drawn to her and I was 9 years old.  She was literally my soul-mate kitty.  I lost her in 2001 and I've never stopped missing her.

I think the Breeders Forum and the Behavior forum might be good places to start for you though.  Good luck with whatever you decide is right for you!
