Hello my name is Meagan I am almost 21 years old, I live with my bf while he finishes his college degree. I went to school for Veterinary Assistant and graduated summer of '10. I have a 3 year old DSH cat named Hobo. He is gray with beautiful green eyes and cute darker stripes in his tail. He is in my avatar. I also have an 8 year old female Border Collie(Patches) and a 10 month old female black Labrador Retriever(Emma).
Background on Hobo
I adopted him October of 2010 from a shelter I used to work at. He came into the shelter March of the year when I was still working there. I loved him from the first, but did not live in a place where I could have him. Now as some of you may know not all shelters have the grandest facilites for pets. Hobo lived in a 2*3 foot cage for quite a few months before he got moved to the adoption room where he then lived in a kitty playpen with one other companion. So the new cage was bigger but still not ideal for a cat. After I quit I would go visit the shelter to see my old friends and co-workers. Hobo was there every time no one saw a personality in him because he would just lay there and act uninterested. I also noticed all the cats were getting HUGE. I was so unhappy. He had been on the PTS list at least three times, but they always found it in their hearts to give him another chance of finding a home.
October rolls around and I am now in a place where I can have a cat, so I went and rescued him! Vet visit was set up for the next day and she said he could stand to lose about 4 pounds. Well he has lost only 1.5 pounds. (posted in diet and nutrition forum) UGH!
Anyways Hobo is the sweetest lovingest cat ever. He is curled on my lap right now LOL. He loves dogs and is not fazed by anything they do to him. Emma is a butthead to him sometimes and he doesn't even swat or bite her. He has never showed aggression to anyone, he never scratches on purpose. I think he has a great personality. Sorry for such a long post.
