They have both been sacked out for the last two hours.

Holland next to my computer (doesn't look too comfy to me, but then again, I'm not a cat
):

She's a different cat everyday around her new brother, Yesterday she spent a lot of time in her favorite hiding place - on the bed under the comforter. Some days she sits in the corner watching him, hissing at his every move. Sometimes, like today, she's very clingy to mommy.

And I'm not sure what (if anything) I should do about this - Daymon absolutely loves Holland's bed. I don't know if I should try to keep him out of it or just let them handle it. But, yes, this tangled pile of fur is in fact a cat:

My babies are so cute...
Daymon has been eating better but he's still pretty skinny. I need to get him in to the vet so I can find out what his ideal weight should be. I have a feeling he'll always be long and lean. Holland is at (maybe slightly over) her ideal weight, and compared to him, she looks like a little butterball.

A Tale of Two Kitties - the dinner installment.

Holland went to eat some dinner:

Then she went into the bedroom to hide under the comforter again. Then Daymon finally got up and was hungry, so I decided to push my luck and feed him (I'm still feeding him in the bedroom, where Holland is hiding out). The lump you see on the left side of the bed is Holland:

Daymon's still on Science Diet because that's what they feed at the shelter, and they give you a bag practically for free with adoption. I'll start transitioning him to Holland's Blue Buffalo soon. As of yet, neither of them has shown any interest in eating the other one's food, which is good. I've been having issues with Daymon wanting to use my couch to sharpen his claws, and just now he used the scratching post!
It's so ridiculously wonderful to have these little victories every day.

One more update and then I have to go to bed. I'm a night owl, and I love vacation time from work, but I'm back to it on Tuesday... ugh.

Anyway, the Showdown installment:

And finally, the "I guess I can't do anything about this horrid situation" installment:

Great pictures! And really, they are both beautiful!

Did Holland really love her bed? Can you buy another bed like Holland's for Daymon? That way they would each have their own bed. They might use each other's (and they probably will), but at least it might be a little easier on Holland that way.

The only reason I said this is because when we got Mollipop, I gave her her very own pink fleecy blanket. She loves that blanket and can sometimes be very protective of it. Even though she may not want to be on it, she doesn't want anybody else on it either. It makes Molli very upset when Tabby flops down on the blanket. We didn't buy Tabby her own and we probably should have, not really for Tabby, but for Mollipop's sake. I don't know, I just wonder what Holland thinks....here she's been the Princess of the palace and has everything just the way she wants it. And now Daymon is there, too, and he's in her bed!
That could just be my thinking though.  I'm hoping that Holland and Daymon become good friends.

ETA: Never mind, I just read your post in another thread about Holland's bed. I didn't realize you had gotten Daymon a similar bed.

They both look pretty relaxed, so the introductions seem to be going well. Daymon appears to really feel at home there.

Yeah, I haven't really caught him in his bed since he was first home. He prefers to be under my bed. Holland has other favorite nap time places, but she hasn't really been in her bed since he's spent a lot of time in it. I don't know, the way these two are he could be totally uninterested in her bed in a few days.

They are definitely making strides. I took this one this afternoon, and Holland didn't even hiss when Daymon settled himself on the arm of the couch!

And I took this one literally a couple of minutes ago (she's still on the floor in that position). I guess having a brother isn't bad enough to give up life's little pleasures...
