My cat is suspected of having colitis. Ironically, since I switched her to "premium" cat foods about a year ago, that's when she started having tons of problems like not eating, vomiting, etc.
I was feeding her grocery store Iams in the orange bag, and though she had softer stools, she was never "sick"...
After switching to the better food, she would eat three bags of a very high quality stuff (ex: limited ingredient duck and pea) and stops eating much, gets clear vomiting, and then I'd switch her food, and symptoms would clear-for another three bags or so.
It's stressful, because I thought I was doing good for my cats switching them to top ingredient cat foods. Is it possible that some cats just don't thrive on these foods, if they have an underlying health issue like colitis?
My vet recommended i/d food to help with her issue, and though it contains so many ingredients I was trying to avoid, she goes crazy over it. Granted, it's only been a few days, but I just want to see her do well. She's not a big fan of wet food, just licks juice or eats tiny bits.
I just don't know what to do any more.
