Our year old + Tortie, Pumpkin, is incredibly finicky.  She mostly seems to prefer wet (and we usually serve either B.G. (before grain) or Nature's Variety; she'll eat the dry (same brands), but begs for the wet.  Then, if the wet is not ultra fresh, or the exact temperature she desires, she turns her nose up at it, and still begs and bugs me for food.

When I say not ultra fresh, I mean just opened; we refrigerate it, of course, and make sure it's covered so as not to get refrigerator odors in to it.

Suggestions appreciated!

To clarify, I meant if it's not just opened, she turns her nose up at it.

Bumping this up for you :D....

There are some cat's that just want the freshly opened tin can. Buy the three ounce sized can's if you can. You could give her the whole can in the am and another in the pm. If she only likes wet food - that is very good :D. Wet food is better for urinary health anyway. If you feed her 1/2 can in the morning and refrigerate the rest for later, when it is time to feed her next meal, then take the other can out of the fridge and "nuke" it for only 5 - 6 seconds to get the aroma back in the food. You could even add a tiny bit of water or a tiny bit of Chicken broth to make it more appealing to her nose. See if that will help her with eating the "leftover's". I also have feral - outdoor - cat's that I care for. So, they will get my cat's leftover's or the food that they turn their nose up at :lol3:

Cats have a tendency to prefer their foods at "mouse" temperature and often do get a bit finicky when presented with a plate of cold food. The best way I know to refresh refrigerated cat food is to mix in a tablespoon or so of warm or hot water (if you use a broth to do this, ensure it doesn't have any salt or other seasonings in it).  I've read that microwaving cat food isn't recommended because it further cooks (and destroys) nutrients in the food, including the supplements the pet food industry adds to address what's destroyed during their own manufacturing process.

You could also try sprinkling the food with something Miss Pumpkin finds irresistible. For my kitties, that's Whole Life's chicken freeze-dried meat treats.  :-}

Good luck getting Pumpkin to eat her leftovers!
