...and let the panic begin! :lol3:

My craft show is tonight and as it is my first I am freaking out! :flail:

I've got some errands related to that today and then off to start setting up later this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone! :wavey:

Good luck!!!!  Is it a well attended craft show?

Its a blustery late fall day here.  I'm being lazy this morning but will have to get ready for work on about 30 minutes.

The three younger cats are running around playing with toys and Bender had to escape to a different room to get away!

Working today 10-4 as usual I hoping we are busy which we usually are on Fridays.  Have a have a talk with one of the new hires as she is still very slow and unwilling to assist on other tasks when customers are not present.  With Thanksgiving just around the corner,  "all hands on deck" is my motto.

Doing a quick couple of errands after work as Neil is picking up the wood splitter from his brother after work.  Tomorrow we have to start hauling in some firewood to the basement and start splitting and stacking all the firewood we have cut this year.  I feel sore muscles coming on already.

Morning everybody!

Good luck with your show tonight, Karen...I hope you do well!

Rick is going with my brother to a high school football play-off game tonight. Our old alma mater is in round 2 of the play-off season. We never expected them to go this far again this year, so they're going to support the team. It's going to be really cold at the stadium tonight....we're talking long underwear cold. Windy, too. Go Green Dragons!!

While he's gone, I'm meeting with GFs for dinner and to roam the mall for awhile.

Have a great day!

Good luck with the craft show Karen!

Well I got some good news last night. The tests came back on the foster kitten who passed from my home and the tests showed NO major illnesses. He was negative for FIV, FELV, feline distemper and herpes. What killed him as that he was FULL of tapeworms.
The shelter now has Droncit onsite and will be treating all of their animals before they leave the shelter. (They were already treating with Revolution, but it apparently doesn't help tapeworms?) They also have a plan in place to better treat the crazy URI's that have been popping up. So I'm no longer on lockdown, and one of my fosters is going home today.

I also got some other really great news. It's not even announced to the public yet, but they new I needed some good news and told me that after YEARS of trying, the shelter is moving to a new, bigger, BETTER property starting Dec. 1st!! This is SO needed, as the currently shelter is so run down, old and in a horrible part of town. This should also go a long way in helping keep the animals nice and healthy!

Good luck at the craft show, Karen!

Kailie, a new shelter will make a world of difference. Our town "cat home", which had been housed in a condemned building for years, was able to move into a brand-new building in October, thanks to donations and the legacy of a former town resident. The heating, electricity and plumbing work right, the whole building is bright and spacious, and now there are even facilities to take dogs on a long-term basis. No phone yet, but that's being worked on.

DH has night shift right now, so I had to rush to get some cleaning done while he was awake. I'm supposed to be finding final exam texts, but keep spending too much time here. :lol3:

Aw Karen, I can't believe you're nervous! Your work is amazing, I'm sure it'll go great and you'll have a blast! :cross: :vibes:

Pam, have fun! Go green dragons!

And Kailie, I am so sorry about the kitties, :hugs: but really, this is good news because with the small change, it's fixable and preventable. :hugs: :hugs: And that is FABULOUS news about the new facility!!!! SO much better for everyone, not just the animals! I'm sure it'll be a real morale booster too. :D

We're having a beautiful, sunny (but normal November chilly LOL) day here. Laz is getting his chemo treatment, and we'll head out to take care of a few errands then BBQ and smashed potatoes for dinner. Been a while, so looking forward to it. :D

Thank you all! :hugs: The nerves continue to build. :lol3: Thankfully I have a friend going with me tonight.

Kailie, that is just fantastic! A new place and new plans may be just what the shelter needs to get back on track!
