Just woke up to the final death toll of last night's bombing - 18 killed and six of them are babies and young children

The bus was full of families with young children... There are many babies still in intensive care badly injured and they're still trying to locate the parents. There are parents looking for their babies among the dead and injured (over 130 injured).

How horrible! They said it was one of the worst scenes ever because there were so many babies and children crying there after the blast. So many little voices calling their mamas and daddies and parents calling for their children.... How horrible that so many of them will never hear their loved ones calling back

I can't fathom how that terrorist boarded the bus, saw he was in the midst of families, nursing moms (one of them lost her 1 month old baby while she was cradling him in her arms and breastfeeding him), and he still chose that particular bus to blow himself up... How inhumane can you be?

I hope I haven't offended anyone with this post. I'm not putting it in IMO, as I guess there's not much of a debate here. Just had to vent my feelings after watching the morning news...

Oh my god. I didn't watch the news tonight, so I didn't see anything about that. Once World News Now comes on, I'll have to watch.

That is so, so sad. Those poor little babies and children looking for their parents... how heartbreaking. I can't even imagine. It even hurts to think about it.

to us, we feel that we will not be able to kill the babies and children but to the terrorist, as long as it achieves their aim, human lives lost are insignificant...

The attacks seem to be escalating lately. The bombing of the UN building, the bus explosion, the killings in Afghanistan. I hope and pray it is not leading up to something even more heart wrenching than what happened to us on 9/11.

Anne I saw the coverage of the bombing of that bus. I had to look away with tears in my heart for the poor innocence lost to the evil that boarded that bus. I hope to never understand that sort of fanaticism where a man can take the lives of so many babies, mothers and fathers. They claim they attain heaven when they do this. I think there is a special pit of Hell waiting for them.

Anne, they don't care. If the world treated people like that in the same manner they treated everyone else maybe some of them would figure out that they're wrong, but because other people are nice they just don't get it.

How about when the Iraquis sent that pregnant woman to a checksite and everyone was blown up? I cannot comprehend how you could do that to anyone. The only reason it worked is because the Americans were nicer than the people who planned that job.

At least those who died are in a better place now and those who did not probably have an important job to do later in life. I know that doesn't make it any easier, though. We here in the US are just beginning to understand what people in some other countries go through on a daily basis and even then, not to the same extent.

I realize you probably don't mean it this way. But please don't lump all Iraqi's and Arabs together. We really don't even know who sent (or forced) that woman to the checksite. Most of the bad things going on in Iraq are from outsiders.

thanks for listening!

You know, I understand the thought process of serial killers (kind of), but I simply cannot comprehend terrorists.

This is so sad, beyond sad but I don't possess the words to say what I really mean.

Tybalt, the religion isn't to blame. It's a perversion of the religion. Any religion taken to fanatacism, with hatred behind it, could lead to such things. Christianity itself isn't an evil religion, but look at what they did in the Crusades and the Inquisition and the Witch Hunts.

The thought of those babies and young children searching and crying for their parents is just too much for me to take. My heart is aching for all of those who lost loved ones.

Evil thrives on pain and suffering. The terrorists will continue to do these cruel and unthinkable acts not because of what they claim to be their religion and not because of their desire for land; I believe that they do this because they are evil beings who get great joy and satisfaction from inflicting unbearable pain on others.

Anne, I am sending all of my healing thoughts to the people of Israel who are hurting deeply right now.

This is just a thought.... Maybe we all need to start practicing more respect for "LIFE". Respect for all LIFE, Animals and humans. It seems to me we harden our selves starting with our senseless killing and abuse of animals, and then when children and people are abused and killed it does not have much of a shock value to us. When is the last time anyone picked up a newspaper and did not see articles on animal abuse, child abuse, rape, or murder? Or maybe religion is wrong in preaching about "heaven". How many people would act differently if they thought this ONE life was their only chance? That this is it. No glory for dying for a cause, no second chance in the next life, no bounty of heavenly rewards, nothing, zip, zero, other than what we have right now at this moment. What greater blessing can a person ask for other than LIFE? Sorry for the soap box, but to me all life is precious. I just have a hard time understanding why anyone would throw life or lives.

The people who gather here daily have respect for life. For animal life, for human life. It is the fanatatical few who endanger others. Who take a religion that started out pure and direct and turn it into a political arena of carnage and destruction. Look at what Jim Jones was able to do in the name of "religion." Look at the hundreds of people who swallowed his words and then swallowed the lethal kool-aid.

It is the anarchists, the terrorists and those who follow them blindly who are bent on this wide path of destruction. When faced with such evil, good people hardly stand a chance.

I agree with Hope completely! The world is a scarey place anymore. And it makes me ill everytime a terrorist strikes. Whether a religious fanatic group or a government run terrorist group. Too many people are suffering on all sides. But there seems to be those who really don't want peace and mess it up for the rest. I might get slammed here, but I believe this is happening on both sides. So sad and tragic that innocent children suffer for it.
