Anonymous big brown tabby boy

On the way home, as I was turning left, up the street to the right I saw what I thought was a dead raccoon in the street. I turned around and went back, and it was a big brown tabby boy, dead. I moved him out of the street. I'll let Animal Control know tomorrow; they bring in all road kill for ID and disposal.

This was somebody's baby; he was well-fed and in good shape. Sure puts a damper on my enjoyment of the afternoon, knowing he won't be purring on somebody's couch tonight.

A number of the houses down that street have large lots, an acre or more, so they may have thought he was safe going outside. They were wrong.

A hard lesson to learn. Hopefully he was chipped so his family knows what happened to him.
RIP big guy.

Animal Control will bring him in and scan him for a chip. Assuming, of course, that they get to him before the coyotes finish him off. I reported him to AC this morning, so I hope they find him.
