Anyone crochet here?

I'm just wondering if anyone else crochets here. I really enjoy crocheting and like to design my own patterns.

I think it would be fun to find out what others are working on and projects they've made.

Crocheter right here! I must say that I haven't actually done many crochet projects, but I would love to start some in the near future. I'm a bit more of a knitter, but just discovered the true fun in crocheting!

I like to crochet, but haven't in quite a while. Most recently I was doing a lot of dish clothes and I like that double sided crochet a lot. I've been thinking about picking it back up again, but the problem is its a Swanie magnet and hard to get anything done.

I have crocheted my whole life. I make mostly blankets as gifts, and right now I'm working on a HUGE blanket for my bed in beach colors-blues and tans.

I LOVE to crochet. Next I'm going to work on making some granny square afghans for the camper!

The only thing I can make are scarves and granny squares, lol

I knit a lot more than I crochet, but I have a friend that likes to crochet a lot so we're going to get together and make a bunch of granny squares together so I can relearn. Then we're going to make our granny squares into a blanket for one of us - probably me cause she has so many already, lol!

I just finished a set of place mats. My first project in years. I couldn't find any that I liked in stores so I decided to make my own.

Since it's been years I was not sure of what to use. I found a macrame cord on line that looked like the stuff that I had used ages ago.

They came out OK but I'm not real happy with them because they are not exactly the same size. And I underestimated and had to order more to finish and now have extra.

When I was ordering more I found another cord that was thinner and would have been perfect. Unfortunately it only comes in 25' lengths and that is just too short to make it worth the effort.

Thanks for replying everyone! It's nice to hear about what others enjoy crocheting. I have been crocheting toys/amigurumi for the past few years and other small projects list wrist purses and coasters. I started an afghan but it's been too hot to work on it much, I'll catch up on it when the weather cools down.

I posted a pic of my kitty JJ posing with some kitties I crocheted in Fur Pics.

Did you use a pattern for the kitties? If so, can I have it?
I crochet and knit and really love it.
At the moment I am knitting more, some of the time I crochet more. Now I am knitting 2 sweaters for my son, one from Alpaca wool which is a little bit "different", it's knitted sideways, and also one traditional Icelandic sweather from Icelandic wool.
I like to have different things going on at one time, so I am also crocheting a blanket made from squares (not granny squares), but needed some time off from that so I started the sweathers (also my son really needs a new sweater, which is why I started that).
I also recently started to crochet a giant telly/couch blanket, that I will finish sometime......I hope!

I crochet big time!! I have about 4 projects in the works right now most are small and just for fun but Im putting together a blanket for DFs gram. She made the squares and asked me to put them together for her. I have a skinny scarf started with Fishermans Wool (<3<3<3 it) its just a simple sc. I have a mohair blanket started but Im in no rush with it because its a personal project its in a gorgeous variegated green. I also have some super fluffy Bernat Harmony yarn in a bright pink that Im going to make another blanket with. Thats just what I have started.

In the past year Ive made a ton of things. I will find the link to my photobucket crochet projects folder so if you want to see some of what Ive done feel free to look around.

I LOVE the pink and green baby afghan! I made a pink and brown one a few months back for a friend of mine's daughters shower. The waffle pattern is really nice!!! I'm considering making her a matching pillow cover...when I find a few minutes...

I LOVE that pattern. I forgot that I saved that picture in there to email to a friend. Thats the pattern picture that is off the Lionbrand website for the pattern. I did end up using the pattern to make a green and brown blanket but gave it to the neighbors daughter before I snapped a picture of it. Her baby doll was cold. LOL Im going to use that pattern again but Im going to make a bigger blanket with it. The 9 patch was a bit too small to my liking. I tend to prefer bigger blankets rather than smaller ones.

Yay! I have to try this now. I have so many yarn scraps and extra quilt batting I could use. Give me a couple days and I'll have a photo of how I did. Hopefully it won't look like a dog chewed on it!

When I was a tiny little girl, and we didn't have much money, my mom went to a charity to get us winter coats. I got a little brown coat, and in the pocket of it some kind person had put a very small knitted stuffed kitten. I named it Snowball and it was my favorite toy for years. So, yeah... good memories.

I am not currently crocheting although I have done alot of projects in the past. One of my favorites was the American flag afghan I did.

Here's a few kitties I've crocheted

Everyone is so talentedI I go through crocheting phases once or twice a year, but I've never learned how to follow a pattern, and I only know two stitches. But I did come up with a way to make dangle-toys for the kitties, and I made quite a few for the shelter that most of our kitties came from. You've inspired me with all these stuffed cats, though -- I'll have to try to figure out how to make one!

I'm going to look for it. I need some throws for my couches for winter! (Leather is COLD in the winter!) and my kids love to snuggle on the couch and watch tv at night.

CarolPetunia-I make door hanging dangle toys for my cats also its a very simple 'pattern' and the part that hangs off the door has a bit of bounce to it. All you do is chain however long you want the piece to be *I do a little extra to have left over at the end to make a loop to hang on the door knob* and then do 2 of whichever stitch you like, I prefer a double crochet but it works well with a single crochet or half double, in each chain, chain 1 (or 2 for a double crochet) turn and continue doing 2 stitches in each stitch for as many rows as you want. It will make a ruffle which ends up having a bit of bounce and spring to it. I also add a giant poof ball to the end of mine but thats a pain to explain how to do lol.
