Things you regret not buying

Do you ever think about a particular item you wish you would have bought when you had the chance, but didn't? I was in a Walgreen's in New Orleans, right after Mardi Gras and not long before Katrina would hit. I found these really cute Mardi Gras lights (like Christmas lights only the bulbs were purple, green, and gold) marked down to $2.50 a box. I debated over them for a bit and then decided not to buy them. For some reason, I still think about those lights and how I wish I had bought them. I guess the moral of the story is buy it when you have the chance, because there may not be another opportunity.

A 1957 Chevy ($75) and a 1955 Chevy ($295) about 1969. Even if I had never driven them an inch, and just let them sit, they'd be worth over $10,000 each today.

YEP - A couple of months ago there was a huge furniture sale at Carson's. There was a gorgeous china cabinet, very ornate with alot of character and the price was just incredible. Of course, Larry.... "we really don't need that" (his usual response). Anyway, we talked more about it and where it would go - I wanted to replace the old one my mom gave me and move that one downstairs. So we went back the next weekend and it had just sold a couple of hours before we got there .....

The cat tower I found for 40 bucks on Craigslist. To this day Im still bummed about it and it was almost a year ago but at that point we were too busy to drive the hour to get it.

Isn't $75 in 57 money $10,000 now adjusted for inflation? JK. What kind of Chevys?

I regret not buying gold when buds were hounding on me how it would surely go up... if I had put in $10K like they had, I'd have made $15K profit now and its still going up. Ditto on Apple stock, man do people love overpriced MP3 players, lol.

If I had bought gold at $300/ounce, I would be selling it right now.

The secret to getting rich: Sell when nobody wants to sell, and buy when nobody wants to buy.

The Chevys were typical sedans for the time. The '57 wasn't running, but you could buy a new engine for $500. The '55 was pristine.

$75 in 1969 is worth $461 now. $299 would be $1839. A '55 in that condition now is worth about $30,000.

A Gap hoodie I found right after Christmas 2 years ago. Black, lined with fisherman's wool - one you could wear outside as a jacket on a not-wet winter day, regular $175 marked down to $25...I was in the process of losing weight and it was just a tiny bit too small so I left it because I'd sworn not to buy anymore "wishful thinking" clothes...a month later I would have fit into it and still fit it today.

I almost never regret not buying clothes, but this one I regret.

I couldn't think of anything until just now. I was talking with my sister and realized that I lost my top earring when she was doing my hair the other night at her place.

I remembered like a month or two ago we were at a store in town and there was a pack of 3 really cool ones that were different colors. I debated for 15 minutes and walked away without them. Now I have no backups to put in. Looks like I will be on the hunt for another multi pack.

I had a chance to buy a Red Box kiosk for a $1000 investment, never thought it would succeed.

Several years ago, when DH and I were shopping around Christmas time, I saw a gorgeous windswept Santa Claus cookie jar. I just fell in love with it. DH offered to buy it for me, but I thought it was too much money and figured maybe I could find it somewhere online.

I've never found that cookie jar and I still look for it sometimes. I've regretted it ever since.

I know....just a cookie jar. But that was beautiful.

This is really stupid, but here goes....a dog bowl. our youngest dog has taken to dumping her food out of her bowl to eat it. Our old one did this when he was younger too. We found a relatively flat bowl just like the one that we got our big dog to keep him from doing it when he was younger. We found it at Ross and while looking around, we set it down to reorganize our basket. And then we walked away, leaving the bowl behind.

I hate picking up her leftovers strewn about on the floor.

A kitten! She was (is) the best black silver ticked tabby BSH I've ever seen, absolutely stunning, others I've seen haven't come even close.
My money situation was quite bad at that moment and I was thinking that 4 cats was my limit.. Then after few days I decided that I must get her but she was already reserved and was then sold as pet quality because she was ticked, and ticked BSHs aren't allowed in Fifé. They are in TICA, and I would have wanted her for breeding and showing.. I call her 'The one that got away' Here's a picture of her.
