My name is Laurie Ann. Not named after family members, just a name my parents liked. I don't love it, don't hate it. I like the way it's spelled.

My name is Cheryl Ann. I don't like the middle name.
My mom named me after her favorite actress' daughter. Old time actress Lana Turner. Her Cheryl Ann murdered her mom's abusive boyfriend.
I don't mind--it's an interesting story

Hope Marie. Hope, because my parents tried to have kids but couldn't so they decided to adopt and I was the child they always "Hoped" for. Marie because it sounded good.

I hated it growing up. I couldn't find anything with my name on it (unless it was a Christmas ornament). Even now, at 41 years old, if I find my name on a touristy keychain or mug it's MINE!
But I love it now because it it still unique. I even had a friend name a boat after me "The Esperanza".

I don't mind my name. My dad wanted to name me after a song he liked way back when called "Linda Lou" so they named me Linda Luella (his mom's name, my grandmother was Luella).

My daughter is going to give her baby (due in November) a middle name which is derived from both mine and her MIL. Her MIL's middle name is Ellen and mine is Luella so she is going to give the baby a middle name of Ella.

Linda I think Ella is a lovely name, and it's nice that you daughter wants to imbue that connection there to her grandmothers.

My name is Wendy, which I don't have a problem with other than the fact that a lot of people misunderstand my accent and think I'm called Windy.
I just thank my lucky stars that common sense prevailed and my twin sister and I got reasonable names. My parents were seriously considering matching names for the cute factor, such as Pauline and Paula.

I like my name - Bridget Renee. I only knew two other Bridgets in my life. People always want to spell it Bridgette or Bridgett though...
I grew up Catholic and my parents named all of us after saints (I'm one of seven).

You want to talk about horrible names - I have a brother who was born in 1776 and my dad wanted to name him Benjamin Franklin if he was a boy and Betsy Ross if he was a girl.
Luckily my mom vetoed THAT idea, and his name is Paul.

I am not that fond of my name - I was named Natalie a few years after Natalie Wood died. My initials are NHL.

It could've been worse - if I was born but a few weeks earlier (close to Christmas) I would've been named Holly Noel.
Not believed in any particular religion, that would've sucked.

My name is Juliet, and yes, I do love it. It's fairly unusual - I've only met a couple of others - which I really like, and it's easy for people to pronounce, which is also great (my surname is impossible for people to pronounce, so I know what a hassle that is). And honestly, I just think it's pretty.
Eek, I sound conceited, I promise I'm really not!

That said, I could really do without all the dumb, "So where's your Romeo?" and similar comments (wow, you're so witty, random stranger, I have never heard that one before
), the quoting of well-known lyrics from the play
(except it seems there's a lot of confusion about the "wherefore art thou" part - it's, "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" random strangers, not, "Wherefore art thou Juliet?" If you're going to make a lame, unfunny comment, at least get it right) - and in more recent years, "Oh, like on Lost?" (uh, I guess?
). There are days I swear I'm going to punch the next person who says any of the above (I would never, ever actually do so, it's just tempting sometimes
).

Hey, me too! Well, minus the Noel part, my middle name would have been the same, but I was due on Christmas day and would definitely have been named Holly had I been born before, on, or after it but still in December. But then I was born 10 days late, after the new year, so they felt like it would be weird and that they had to scrap Holly. I'm glad, it's not my style personally. And I'm agnostic, so a bit weird, though at least I could have made myself focus on the fact that it's actually a "nature name" instead.

Haha, it must be an "-et" ending thing; people are forever asking me if it's Juliet, Juliette or Juliett (Juliette is a logical enough guess IMO, but Juliett just seems weird to me, to assume that's the most likely spelling, I mean
).

I love Bridget.
Lucky you!

I'm one of bajillion in the group with the middle name Lynn.

I would like my name, Ashley, if it was spelled differently. Its something like the 18th most popular girls name. I would change it if I didn't love my mom so much.

"Its sudden rise in popularity is generally attributed to the emergence of the female soap opera character Ashley Abbott on The Young and The Restless in 1982."

Yep, that's where she got it from.

I like my name ok. (Kim)...there were several other "Kims" in my grade in school though. No biggie. Most of my friends call me Kimmers or Kimmie anyway. (haha, a 48 year old Kimmie) oh well! When I have my name in print in a music program I usually go with Kimberly, though.

Love Juliet's story LOL.

I'm Katherine after my mom's favorite actress (and to tick off her own mother who was adamant that she should call me Brunhilde
)

I was Katie when I was younger but switched to Kate since there were 3 Katies in my class in grade 6.

I never thought much about my name - didn't love it or hate it until I spent a summer doing data entry for an adoption agency and saw some of the names those poor kids were given. The one that always stuck with me was a set of twins named Ziggy Stardust and China Girl...I guess the mom was a David Bowie fan. Thankfully their adoptive parents changed their names...

My birth name is Laurie Anne. I changed my name to Lauren in High School because I hated the name Laurie
Now I like my birth name, but everyone knows me as Lauren. My family still all calls me Laurie Anne though. But, I still go by the name Lauren and some of my friends call me "L".

I feel your pain! Try working in customer service with a name like Hope. "Hi, my name is Hope. How can I help you?" "Well, I HOPE you can help me Hope. Your name gave me Hope".
yeah well, I probably can't do a darn thing for you but what's your story. lol. I also answer to Faith, Charity, and Joy because people know it's ONE of them.
