Your vibes/prayers are working people! Brooklyn tested negative for both FIV & FeLv! She is currently being treated with IV fluids and oxytocin to try to get her to have the kitten that may still be inside of her. She's fighting, and I'm going to continue to fight for her. We may have lost her precious kittens, but I am going to do everything in my power to make sure Brooklyn never has to suffer again, and that she ends up in an amazing, loving, perfect home.

Oh Kailie, I'm so sorry about the kittens - but I'm glad for the news about Brooklyn.
And there's no better person to ensure Brooklyn never suffers again.

Keeping up the vibes for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn is staying overnight at the vets and will hopefully be able to come back here tomorrow.
She has had any further kittens however, so I think they plan to explore this more tomorrow.

I'm so glad she tested negative and they are now treating her with IV flluids and the oxytocin. I'm curious too why they can't do an xray or something to figure out if there is another kitten or not.

to get this little girl back home to her foster parents.

I really think that this vet is used to the shelters old director, where if anything was wrong with an animal, they would just put them down instead of spending money on them. Kari, the new director is AMAZING! I talked to her numerous times throughout the day and now that the tests are good, she is willing to do whatever it takes to get Brooklyn well!
SHE is all about the animals, but I don' think the vets are used to this yet. Even Kari said that if she doesn't have a kitten overnight that we're going to have an ultrasound done, just in case because the vet really didn't seem sure.

Kari even told me today to stop buying things, supplies, etc. for the fosters saying we do enough and that THEY can take care of stuff.
I told them that I don't mind helping at all, otherwise I wouldn't. She just wants to make sure we don't feel taken advantage of. She REALLY is the best thing to ever happen to this shelter.

Kailie, Kari sounds just like Jane, the cat director at the shelter I volunteer for. Just amazing cat champions and will stop at nothing to save one cat. They never seem to tire emotionally or physically in their plight to save either. And this goes for you too, I think YOU are incredible. Brooklyn is in great hands and she will pull through this, I just know it
more vibes for her tonight

I just spoke with the vet regarding Brooklyn! SHE IS EATING ON HER OWN!
The vet said she ate quite a bit too! This is SUCH wonderful news! Apparently though after 2 shots of the oxytocin she still hasn't passed her kitten and he is fairly certain now there is one. They are going to do an emergency spay on her but want to wait until tomorrow or Saturday to get her more stable. So, he said the earliest she can come back here is Saturday but will more likely be Monday or Tuesday. I'm ok with that though because she is obviously getting better!

Well, eating is a very good thing! And I am also anxiously awaiting a picture...now that I know she looks like Holland, I'm sure I'll fall instantly in love with her too, since my Darko could be Holland much larger twin brother
.

I'm actually glad they are going to wait a couple of days on the spay for her to build up some strength.

Want to hear something weird? I was just investigating some eye cream for my mother, and there's a very highly rated one out there that is Oxytocin. I wonder if it's the same stuff (in a different form) that they were giving Brooklyn? Whatever...when I saw that name, I had to come over to this Forum and see how she was today!!

Dana just showed this to me! I forgot about it! He took it literally seconds before I realized she was contracting and pushing with her first kitten.
I laid on the floor with her and she came up and curled up in my arm like this.
Excuse the quality as it was taken on his phone.
