I love this picture of you and Brooklyn...
she is so lucky to have you as her caregiver/advocate.

More love headed Brookly's way.

Brooklyn stayed at the vet over the weekend and will HOPEFULLY be spayed today. I'll call the vet this afternoon (if they don't call me first) to find out how she is making out and when she can come home.

Sending lots of vibes that she can be spayed today and she gets to come home soon

I just got a message from Kari at the shelter who spoke with the vet this morning regarding Brooklyn. They can no longer feel what they thought was a 3rd kitten inside her and think that where that is the case, they don't want to do a spay on her now until she recovers from her illness and becomes stronger. I agree and want to do what is best for her health, so we're going to pick her up after work, bring her back home and get her nice and healthy before having her spayed. The good news is she continues to eat and drink on her own. I can't wait to get her home and spoil her!

!!!!! I'm sure she'll get healthy right quick with your wonderful love and care!

Brooklyn is back here! She's in our bedroom getting some much needed rest and relaxation and looks SOOO much better! She came home and immediately went to her food bowl and chowed down.

I bet she is so glad to be home!

that she continues to grow stronger and stronger so she can get spayed and then find her furever home.

Here are some pics I just took of her. She was getting some lovin' but kept closing her eyes because of the flash.

I can't get decent pictures of Holland without a flash, and she always closes her eyes too...

Brooklyn looks like she needs some TLC, but I'm sure she'll be thriving in no time!!! Get that girl some meat on her bones!

Keiri always squints at the flash too. I'm so glad to hear she's recovering nicely. I can't wait to see pics of a nice plump and healthy Brooklyn!

All I can say is this cat is so TOTALLY thankful of our help and happy to be alive! She is literally BEYOND affectionate. She spent the entire night either sleeping on my head, face or chest and I kept getting headbutted harder than I ever have before. Made for a very sleepless night, but my goodness it was worth it!

After reading your above post....
my heart is smiling.

You are a little panther with the heart of a lion Brooklyn.

Okay, that totally did it.... I'm now a weeping puddle on the floor. After reading through this thread, I want to give you a huge thank you for taking care of this little girl. I couldn't believe how tiny she looks.... she's a kitten herself!

Many, many coming your way that Brooklyn continues to thrive and get healthy and eat and drink. She's in the best hands EVER.

Meh, you guys know this is what I was meant to do with my life. I'm just glad we're in the position where we can help.

So I need to add something else to the long list of things Brooklyn has against her. I do believe she may be deaf. When I go in the room and she is sleeping or not facing me, there is no response from her at all unless she either sees me or I tough her. Dana and I were clapping, snapping and just making certain noises that should have gotten a reaction. Nothing. She also has a very strange, deep meow. Could her ears just be plugged from the URI? Is it something that could get better? Guess its something I'll have to discuss with the vet when she goes in again.

Oh Kailie! Just... I agree with all of the above posters! And just... wow!

I'm already wondering if Brooklyn is going to be a failed foster!

The Elegant Eleven?

to you, Kailie & Dana

More for Brooklyn!

Oh - on the deaf thing. It could be temporary, it could be permanent damage. Since Flowerbelle can hear certain frequencies (try different clicking noises & such - but she can't hear the vacuum LOL), we presume her hearing was damaged by her horrible herpes virus problem when rescued.
I agree with everyone here....
you are an angel Kailie.

I have heard that eleven is a lucky number...
Brooklyn?
Kailie !!!!!!! Again, agree with all of the above too. You and Dana are just angels on earth for abandoned cats/kittens. So many to you and Brooklyn today. She could have some damage to her hearing from being so very sick. Gosh, that poor little sweetie, but she is SO lucky to have you . Elegant Eleven?? I like the sound of that.

Nope, no more guys. 10 is just right and I don't want to push it. Don't worry though, she won't be going ANYWHERE until I find her the perfect forever home. I want to be able to continue to help, and I won't be able to do that if I keep anymore, as much as I love this girl.

Oh, come on now, everyone needs an all black cat , and you don't have one yet!!
We all have to know our limit about how many forever cats we can care for at one time.
I back your decision to stick with your 10.

When the time is right, you and Brooklyn's perfect forever home will come together.

It's been a few days since I checked in on this thread, and I'm so happy to hear Brooklyn's getting stronger! Yay!!!! That's really sweet that she's so affectionate too.
