Just got home from a free concert at our local shopping center by "A Hard Night's Day." It's a Beatles cover band, but it was too hot for them to do the whole dress-up thing. Great band, though. Started with the old stuff and worked up to the latest. I was amazed at how many young people, even 10-year-olds, were singing along with them.

A Hard Night's Day

Our shelter was the beneficiary of a $500 donation from the shopping center, and they had a number of our available dogs at the show, and a number of dogs that have been adopted from the shelter in recent years.

Over the river and through the woods...
Oh, I love things like this! Our nearest town has a "Friday after 5:00" and they have local bands and special interest groups and all kinds of things. It's a fun time and it's all for free, except the beer and food. When we went a few weeks ago, the local rescue had a beautiful 2 yr old pure bred husky available for adoption. My heart just broke. She was GORGEOUS!! If I could afford another one, she would have come home with me! And tons of kittens...that is what is so sad...so many kittens. It breaks my heart. I'm SO glad your shelter got $500!

The shelter didn't take any cats out to the event (too hot), but they had at least 3 of the adoptable dogs. A goofy mastiff/airedale mix puppy, about half grown, that loves everybody, a little dog who is just a bundle of energy, and the softest, sweetest little puppy (Sasha), who everybody loved! They introduced Dottie and me as representing the cat side of the shelter.

I was especially impressed with the Epiphone Casino they played on the later stuff, and the Rickenbacker 12-string they played on stuff from the HELP! album.
