I used to just donate points to people who didn't have many, but I guess it was to the newer members since usually I'd get a PM asking what they were!

Me, too. I'd probably have over a million points by now, but I'm always donating or buying gifts. If I notice someone getting low, I'll usually donate some.
I don't need any either, but I sure hope that those who are low on them see this so they can get some extra ones.
