Thank you everybody for your kind comments about our Maggie-girl. She'll be going home sometime today, but I'm not sure when. She's sacked out back here in the computer room with me right now.
Here's what she looked like when she was napping last night. Our cats' bellywaves have nothing on Maggie! And I just love that pink belly! I think she has become very secure and content with us.
Seeing her won't be a problem as whenever we visit, we always get lots of cuddles and hugs. She won't leave me alone when I'm there.
DH and I are wondering if her being here isn't a dry run, so to speak. Our son has mentioned several times that he's been tempted to "get rid of her" simply because she is such a huge dog in their small house. But our GS adores her and DS has said that that's probably the only reason he hasn't done so already.
It really frustrates me when people get pets without thinking and then, when it's too darn late, realize that the pet isn't working out the way they thought it would. My parents went through that with Ebbie, our family Cocker Spaniel....when my brother divorced, nobody wanted Ebbie and she was just an absolute doll. She ended up with my parents and had a great life with them for several years. Anyway, we could be wrong, but both DH and I have a sneaky feeling that eventually we will be asked to take Maggie.
Thank you for looking at her pictures. We think she's an incredible sweetheart and we both love her dearly.
