The other day I was going through my file box cleaning out old receipts etc and have a large trash bag about 1/2 full of shredded up papers. While I was going through the box and shredding paper, Spencer was having a grand time hiding inside the bag and playing in the paper.

This afternoon I was gathering up the trash for my neighbour to take out for me this evening. I added some stuff to the shredded paper bag and tied it up and put it next to the door and sat down at the computer to rest my back.

Not even a minute later I hear rustling from the direction of the door. I looked over and thought one of the kittens was playing with the garbage bags. Nope. No one there. So I thought I was hearing things.

Then I heard it again. I looked back, and again, nothing. So I assumed it was the neighbours across the hall bringing in some groceries or something.

Then the rustling got more frequent, and I saw the bag move. I went over and felt the bag, which prompted him to attack my hands from inside the bag. I untied it and the little weirdo wouldn't get out of the bag! He wanted to stay in there and play!

I took him out, made sure there was no other kitty in the bag and tied it up again!

I've gotten into the habit of looking in closets, cupboards and the fridge before I close doors, but now it seems I need to look into bags before my garbage goes out too!

He's no worse for wear. He was in the bag for less than 3 minutes tops! And there were lots of holes in the bag from his adventures yesterday, so there was lots of air.

He's now inspecting all of my groceries!! Silly boy!

I always check the tumble dryer aswell before I put it on as she sneaked in there one time, dear me they really put us under stress

Oh yeah! I always check the dryer too! Chynna
used to love to hide inside and because she was white it was not always easy to see her. So it's become a habit.

Don't you love the many ways kittens can give their owners heart attacks

It was lucky you didn't take the bag directly out to the sidewalk, right?

That would give me nightmares for a while, let me tell you.

I not only check the dryer. I count kitty noses after I've closed the door before I start it up. Of course, there have been times I've forgotten to go back and start the dryer after I've located all the kitty noses.

Oh, Spencer.
I feel your pain, lol. Polly is always getting into stuff, so I have to triple-check before I start the washer, the dryer, or put any bags outside.

When cats live inside, they have their own quirky little places they love. It is easy to shut them in closets all day, or close them in dresser drawers. I know people probably don't think about it, but I could tell a horror story about the clothes dryer. Never ever leave the door open. Don't start to load it, leave the door open and then turn it on. If you do, always, ALWAYS, check inside before you turn on the dryer.

What a character that boy is!

I've gotten into the habit of counting noses several times a day. Even though our gang is comprised of older cats, we never know when somebody is going to do something silly. So I count noses and if I don't see somebody, I yell "Treat!" and all the cats come running. Makes it easier to check on the kids that way. (And I would never yell "Treat!" unless I meant it....if I say the word, they always get something.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that!

Spencer's a riot!
