It could be she's allergic to something inside your house? It's good you are taking her to the vet!

We took her to the vet. She has a flea allergy and skin infection. He prescribed Prednolosone and Noroclav. Its been nearly a week and shes clearing up already.

There are so many reasons this could be happening.

What do the sores look like? Are they circular and kind of dried out looking? In this case it could be Ringworm (no real worms involved, but highly contageous to other cats AND people). If she itches and scratches other places and it IS ringworm, it will spread, and there is always the chance you might get it as well.

As the other poster said, allergies are highly likely as well, could be the food, dust, a laundry detergent you switched to, new litter, just about anything.

Have the Vet take a scraping for sure. Don't let him/her get away with not doing a scraping to really check it out to see what it is instead of guessing just by appearance, it will make you feel much, much better!)

Warmly,

Julie O'

I'm so glad it is clearing up. That is great news! I've never had a cat with those types of allergies but I did have a dog that was allergic to flea bites. He got Advantix every month but even if a flea bit him before dying he would have the reaction. Prednisose usually cleared it up right away. I'm so glad you have found a solution.
