I sure hope Tuxie turns the corner soon and feels better. I am praying for those nice pink gums for Valentine's day and more activity from Tuxie
. It is so darn hard when our babies are sick. Hopefully the next shot will do it's job

all for the continued vibes.

We've decided to try to not look at his nose and gums (not closely, anyway) until Monday. That way it should be easier to tell if we see improvement or not in his color.

His appetite is still up, which is great, but he still doesn't want to play.

I am hoping he will perk up over the weekend. Poor little tuxedo boy, he is fighting fatigue. I am glad that he eats well though, that is great.

Will you take him in on Monday?

That's a good idea not to look at the gums. Like you said you will notice better after a day or two, and it will take the stress down a notch, hopefully.

Continued vibes and prayers for Tux.

If things haven't changed by Monday, we call then to make the appt. Depending upon scheduling, Stan's always in surgery for the day either Tuesday or Wednesday - so not sure when we'd actually be bringing him in. It's not an actual emergency.

I'm so sorry you're going through all this worry, LDG, I know exactly how you feel. <<<hugs>>>

Sending many thoughts and continued prayers that Tuxie becomes fully himself ASAP. And if he doesn't, that an easy to find and easy to fix issue is at fault.

Well, Gary's got a Doc appt on Thursday, so we scheduled Tuxie to go in Wednesday for the follow-up hematocrit.

Don't know how well you can see the comparison, but the first picture is Tuxedo's nose this morning, and the second picture is Shelly's (and yes, Shel has a scratch on his nose). In real life there's a pretty dramatic difference in the amount of pink - also quite visible in their gums and paw pads.

Gary thinks Tuxie's hematocrit is over 30. I think he's still at 28, MAYBE 30. We'll find out Wednesday morning.

Tuxedo:

For comparison, Sheldon:

Will be thinking of both "boys" until then. I was just looking at Tuxie's pawsies in your "Lazy" thread and they are pale...So lots of get better wishes are in order

First of all, what gorgeous boys, and they are identical!!!!! Very sweet faces.

Sending "strong" to Tuxie and good results with the hemocrit on Wednesday!!!

And to you and Gary
that you can stay strong through this health ordeal with Tux, he is a lucky boy to have you two caring for him

TUXEDO IS PRETTY IN PINK!!!

His hematocrit is 37.5, (it was 28. Below 25 is anemic, normal is 30-40, and 37.5 is GREAT for Tuxedo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and he's gained weight and weighs 12 pounds! Doc said not to worry if he gains or loses a couple of ounces, he's VERY HAPPY with Tuxie where he is.

Doc said it's very likely just the "winter" thing - vasoconstriction while resting. Tux loves sleeping up in the front window so it's cold - and maybe he's got lower blood pressure than Shel or something. As to the (lack of) playing... again, chalk it up to a winter thing.

As we're familiar with the issue of vasoconstriction and resting vs active, but his gums and paw pads were just SO WHITE - and we couldn't GET him to play (which in and of itself was a concern).

But by the time we got to the vet (long drive) - he was, in fact, looking almost like Rudolph (the red nosed raindeer LOL), and definitely as pink as Shelly.

We are SO HAPPY and SO RELIEVED, and I LOVE being wrong about stuff like this!

Thank you all for your good wishes and vibes and prayers!
