Two 16 year old cats - Page 2

What a wonderful thing to do! Those two senior kitties are so lucky to have someone like you that is considering letting them live out their golden years in a new forever home together.

Bless you for providing a home for these two sweet kitties. Sending lots of vibes as they settle in.

And I think the idea of letting their family or owner know that they are now cared for, if you do take them, is just a BRILLIANT idea! If I was in that situation (in long term care) I would be so fretting about these two. I think all of us here would feel that way.

Bless you for doing this!

to both of those - and all of the above posts! What a wonderful, wonderful thing to do!

My guess is the shelter won't give you info to contact the original meowmy or daddy, but I would beg and plead with them (and probably try to bribe them if necessary LOL) to contact the family on your behalf.

for all of you!!!!!

Guess who is coming home with me on Friday?

Thanks for all of the well-wishes!

They have a little bit of a cold at the moment, that is going through the shelter, but the vet says its just all show. Lots of sneezing kitties to them getting rid of it soon. None of the cats are on anti-biotics as of yet, because the vet doesn't feel like its necessary.

for healthy kitties. If it's a cold that's a virus and antibiotics won't help anyway. You'd do as well to feed them chicken soup.

Oh I'm sorry about the sneezies, but what wonderful news!

for the virus to run its course quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, you have just made my day!!!!!

It takes a special person to take these two gals, and boy, are you it!!

I have tears running down my face. I wish all the cats had people like you.

God bless!!!!!

Quick Update,

Have to go to Guelph to pick up Missy today. Puurcy is not well and is at the vets, I guess she is a little depressed about being locked in a cage and is not eating much and dehydrated, so she is resting and on fluids at the vets. I will know more tomorrow.

to Puurcy

I need all of the I can get right now.

Purrcy is not doing well at all....not even sure whether or not I will be able to bring her home. They are making her comfortable but they are trying to figure out what the most humane thing to do is....

Oh, poor Puurcy.
How is Missy doing? If they're bonded it might be better to bring Puurcy home so she can be with Missy, even if it turns out to be just for her last few days.

My Lucy was about the same age when she took really bad cat flu. It stunned us because she was an indoor cat. Our vet thought that it was a recurrence of something she had as a kitten long before we got her.

Lucy was in the vets on IV fluids and medication for 4 days. She wasn't doing very well and by the 4th day, even though she was pleased to see me when we visited, wouldn't eat - despite me having brought her own feeding bowls to try and get her to eat.

It was decided to let her come home and see how it went. As soon as we got home she was asking for food! She just wanted to be home.

Lucy lived to be at least 22. She had several episodes of cat flu but was never hospitalised again as we learned how to cope with it with meds from the vet.

Like human colds and flu, the virus will run its course, usually about 7 - 10 days then there should be an improvement. I really hope Purrcy can hang on in there.

Sending much her way.

I hope Purrcy can pull through
