Going to the bathroom is a challenge! I have kittens crawling all over me! Not that I mind!

I went in and found Katie running to greet me. And Spencer in the sink trying to catch his tail!

Katie was all over me. She seemed like she would want to go down. But as soon as I put her down, she was trying to get back up.

Spencer stayed mostly in the sink until I needed to use it. I had to lift him out. He had been rolling over and over enjoying his belly rubs.

Both are so gentle with my hands. They don't scratch or stick their claws out at all. And both enjoy getting their paws rubbed. So I hope clipping nails won't be a chore like it was with Abby when she first came to live with me. I had to clip hers when she was sleeping!

Abby is still getting her lovings! She laid on the back of the couch today and also on top of me as per her usual. Today is the day to take her sutures out. They will be easy to do because they are very obvious to see. It's just a matter of coaxing her to lay on me with her butt to the right because I'm right handed. So if she will do that, it will be easy. I did remove one already. She didn't even notice.

I had forgotten how agile kittens are! They are so wriggly and squirmy! It's like they don't have any bones!

I will be suprised if 2 baby gates will keep kittens contained lol. A solid door barely works. I saw that thread too, it is a great idea. Let us know if it works!

Off to see pic thread!!!!
I think Abby will be helping to keep them behind the gate, judging by her hissy reaction when Spencer went into the bedroom after his jail break!

Are you giving them medication for the pain from their surgeries? If so, I bet they'd be fine to stop it especially if they're acting like normal wild kitties! Neither Hannah nor Tumbles got pain meds once home from their surgeries for spay/neuter.

They sound simply precious! I do hope you have the capability of videoing them and their antics. I'd love to see them in action!

This is the first time I've been on TCS since the kitties came home, and I've been dying to know how things were going - and it couldn't possibly be better! YAY for jail breaks - sounds like it was a good thing.

I'm SO GLAD Abby isn't completely freaking out! And I haven't seen the pics yet, but they sound like the sweetest little darlings!

things continue to go smoothly!

Yes, it was Metacam. It was the last dose due, so I wanted to give it to them just in case. I figure they are kittens and will be jumping around no matter what.

Spencer had a hernia which was repaired too.

I'm happy that the vet sent home pain meds. I know that when a human has surgery they have pain afterward and are given pain medication. I think animals feel the same and should also get pain control.

No video camera
I do have a video capability with my cheap digital camera, but I don't have a memory card other than what came with the camera. I think a video tapes for 20 seconds and that's it before the memory is full.

Poor Abby!

I put her in the bedroom and closed the door so I could let Spencer and Katie roam around for a bit and have an active play session.

Abby is meowing and pawing at the door wanting out so bad. I'm cutting the kittens freedom short and putting them back in the bathroom and putting up the baby gates and opening the bathroom door for them. "

I'll let them out into the living room again tomorrow evening for 15 minutes or so with Abby in the bedroom again.

Poor Abby! I'm loving your stories, though. And I'm jealous. It would be so nice to have kittens in the house again.
The kittens are home!

They had fun with the laser pointer!
They both chased it at high speed.

I put the baby gates up. Everyone is being so quiet while they check each other out. The 2 gates stacked on top of each other is pretty high. I doubt that they will get over the top at this point. Hopefully I can give up the gates by the end of the week anyway. I'm hoping anyway!

Abby is put out, but only mildly so.

Ohhhh! Abby just went right up to the gate to look through the holes. I heard a small growl. Not sure if it was Abby or one of the kittens. Spencer seems to be the growly one.

Ohhhhh!!! Abby is in front of the gate rolling around on the floor with a knitted toy I bought on Thursday. Tummy exposed!

I have to work tomorrow, but I don't want to go!!! I'd rather stay home with my fur family!

5 more working days and I have a whole week off to enjoy them.

I had my first shower since they've been home. It's been kind of crowded in the bathroom. They don't want me to take out the carrier because it's a step up to the sink. Initially they were using it to lay in occasionally, or at least one of them was. The last few times I've been in there they've been either laying in the sink or on my shower chair in the tub.

With the baby gates up I managed to have enough space to have a shower

Scared the daylight out of me when I was sitting relaxing under the warm water and felt a punch in my arm! I didn't know who it was at the time.

But when I finished and turned the water off and opened the curtain, Katie was laying on the sink looking at me. I can see I have a companion for when I shower.

She loves water it seems. First it was Spencer in the sink, now when I go in it's Katie. When I turned the water on to get a glass of cold water (my routine to make sure I get enough fluids is to have a tall glass of water every time I go to the bathroom). As soon as I turned the water on she was practically climbing into the sink. When I held her all her paws were wet and so was the top of her head!

Oh my gosh there's just so much cuteness going on - the thread needs a cuteness warning even though it's not even a pictures thread!

I LOVE having my shower companion! (Flowerbelle). Of course we had to change our shower cleaning strategy, because Gary was always a fan of major chemicals.
At least it's helped him become a bit greener.

I brought home some of the vet food they were eating while at the vets. They were having a hard time adjusting to the change in diet. See my thread in "Nutrition Form".

As usually Spencer snarfed down his dinner and Katie picked at hers.

I let them out of the bathroom this evening to run around and play. Abby is feeling a little under the weather I think because she usually greets me in the living room, but she was on the bed when I got home. I went and laid down with her and gave her loves and cuddles and tummy rubs. No purrs from her but she was very relaxed.

Both kittens came into the bedroom and Spencer jumped on the chair next to the bed a few times. Abby hissed and growled and so did Spencer, but Abby didn't try to run after him or anything. As soon as he jumped down she stopped growling. She watched them roaming around a little, all the while laying in my arms getting pets and kisses.

Right now she's laying on the bed with the door open, while the kittens run around the living room like little lunatics.

Well, they're all tucked in for the night! They had the run of the apartment for 3 hours and ran like crazy and explored everything.

They both had a good dinner. Almost 1/2 of a can each of the p/d wet food from the vet.

They found the basket of kitty toys that was sitting on the chair under the table. Katie picked a furry mouse that has something inside that rattles when she throws it around. She really likes that one! Spence was more interested in the electronic wires
Typical boy!

I think the are sufficiently tired enough to sleep the night away. And I'm off to bed to cuddle with Abby.

Aw, I'm sorry about Abby not feeling well - but really, it sounds like things are going really well! Best is cuddling on the bed with her while they're out romping. I'm so glad she's being - overall - so relaxed about this! Must be a great relief! :vibes she feels better AND the intros continue to go well!

Congrats on the new additions!!! I hope the intros go well and they all settle in nicely.

I remember when I brought Charlotte and Everest home. Shadow was NOT a happy boy. I kept the kittens in the living room blocked off with a couple of baby gates. Shadow would sit and stare at them while he growed. Everest was in awe of Shadow, but whenever the little guy got too close Shadow would bop him on the top of the head. Shadow eventually accepted them, but it took time. Shadow crossed over the RB two years later, but Everest was always submissive towards him. Sorry for the story, I just wanted to share. I wish I had room for a couple more kittens...lol.

BTW, the kittens are gorgeous.

This morning I got around to opening up the dry kitten food from the vet. OMG! I thought they were milling around for the wet this morning, but it was the dry they really wanted. They dived right into the dry leaving the wet until they had their fill of the dry and then picked at the wet a little.

Katie is cute! Takes one piece out and puts it on the floor and then eats it. Goes back for another and does the same thing
Spencer is just a typical boy. Growls and wolfs down his food whole! Nothing gets between that boy and his meals!

I put in a larger litter box in there because in the next couple days they are going to be out and about...no more bathroom. So I figured that they would all be using both litter boxes and I know Abby would over shoot that wee little one I had bought at Safeway.

This morning there was another jail break when I opened the bathroom door. Both got out but Katie went the furthest. Abby was in the living room licking her privates
and saw Katie. Abby stopped dead lick and just stared. No hissing/growling. Of course Katie isn't the growler. I imagine if it had been Spencer both would have been hissing/growling at one another.

So hopefully things continue to go well.

Abby is feeling better today. She came to bed last night and cuddled and cuddled more this morning until the kittens disturbed her with their mewling.

Abby is a bit put out, but she is a very social kitty, at least with me, so I'm really hoping that she takes to the kittens in time.

No punches in the arm this morning in the shower, but Katie sure was trying to get to the suds at the bottom of the tub after my shower.

Aww sounds like everything is going just fine--it's early days yet so I think that's all pretty good!
I'm pretty sure she will take to them, she's probably just deciding on how she wants to take to them (play with them or curl up with Mum while they go nuts?
). She sounds pretty confident of her place
