Cats (and dogs) were supposed to be in tune with when their humans got sick. I'm battling a hideous case of the flu (101 fever, sore throat, the whole 9 yards...)and Marc has been nothing short of a terror! In fact, I think he's been more crazy than usual!

I was hoping my sickness would cause him to calm down and allow me some rest so I wouldn't have to get up 15 times in an hour to retrieve him from the top of our door which he now jumps on, but is too scared to jump down from.

The craziest part is - he's now asleep after keeping me awake and I'm tiptoeing around him as not to wake him. Spoiled brat! What a monster I've created.

Maybe it is time he learns by himself how to get down from the top of the door. My cats do it all the time. I was worried a bit at first but now I'm used to the furry door decorations.

Yayi, I think you may be on to something there

it just seems SO high!
In any case - today, I won't have that worry. The door will be shut with me on one side and him (and my OH) on the other!
I've still slept only an hour or so and now I need my beauty rest!
Not sure who will make more noise today, Marc
or my OH! My bet is on the latter.

Is Marc a young kitty??
Jake would do this type of thing up until age 2, now he is slowing down enough to actually stop and notice things around him. Before then, if I was sick he didn't care because the birds outside and little moving objects, or his plans on what naughty thing to do next were distracting him so he never stopped to notice whether or not I'm sick...

Maybe he's crazy with worry?

LOL! Maybe she has worry wrinkles there but you just can't see 'em through the fur... or maybe not.

Tilly could care less if I am ill or not...All she cares about is if I am well enough to open the can of cat food.

Moo on the other hand is like a little mother hen...he is usually glued to me when I am home..but increases his snuggles when i am feeling ill.

You have the flu. Your cat is just trying to not catch it from you

Seriously they do know when your sick or hurting. Maybe he just doesn't know how to act around you?

Mine only want to know if my can opener-operating hand is still functioning...

Your responses gave me a good laugh. Thanks!
He is 8 months.
1:15am and he is still bouncing around. I so wish I had some of his energy
