Hi!

Thanks for checking on me, Stephanie. That's really sweet!

Things are finally headed in the right direction. I felt pretty yuck until last Friday and then all of a sudden my taste buds started working again and ever since then, I've been eating more normally and have been feeling stronger.

I am doing my full workout at the gym again (which wasn't much) but not with my usual gusto. I've also given myself projects each day like cleaning a bathroom and doing laundry, vacuuming downstairs, upstairs, etc. I try to have that all done by noon each day so I can rest before my dd comes home and I have to cook dinner, etc. Bedtime is still pretty early, but I'm no longer feeling as tho I will die if I don't get to bed.

As for the MG, it is still pretty bad. Tomorrow I will be back to full doses of all the meds I was on prior to the reboot. Pretty discouraging but I know I have to wait 1-2 years before saying definitively "It didn't work." It's hard to be patient, especially when I had those 2 weeks early on with nary a symptom. I kind of wish that had never happened as now I know really well what I'm missing.

I'm still completely bald, but notice some slight regrowth beginning when I rub my head, but it's not visible yet. I've learned knit caps, even in winter, are HOT. I hate the look of scarves, so I wear the caps in public and go without at home. The cats all looked at me funny at first when they saw me bald, but are fine now.

This is probably more than you wanted to know, but thanks again for asking!

Thank you for the update. I'm so sorry those two weeks didn't keep going.... but I'm glad life is returning to a BIT of normal. And having your taste buds back is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad to see you posting! Also glad you're feeling better, eating better, and being productive, even if not to a level prior to the reboot.

Hang in there!

When I lost my hair to chemo, I hated wearing a wig....I felt like a vice was on my head....and I sort of liked my scarves. Hats were a must outside, but inside, at work and with friends, I pretty much just put on festive earrings and made sure I had lipstick on and "went commando".
I ended up feeling more comfortable just letting the baldness rule.
It sure cut down on my time getting ready to go somewhere!

It's good to hear things are going well. I have been thinking of you. So, you are the "one" who buys only 1 curtain panel!

Keep the good attitude...it gets us over the humps.

Nanner,

I HEAR ya. If I wouldn't get such odd looks, I think I'd rock the bald look forevva! It's such an easy style! Wash (I'm using a Burts Bees shampoo bar every few days), and then with one sweep of a towel you're done! Want to take a nap but don't want "bed head?" Fuhgettaboutit! It's nooooooooooo problem! LOL And yes, I've been wearing dangly earrings and usually my "cat hat" when I go out.

I must really be feeling better as I just planned to cook a big Christmas dinner for my family and my neighbors who took such good care of us when I was in the hospitals. I'm even looking forward to it. There are a couple of parties coming up and I'm cooking big for them, too. I have my reputation to uphold.

Doing some IV steroids today to hopefully knock the double vision out until the New Year. Everything else seems better right now but 3 weeks of unending double vision is enough. I hope this works! I'd like to do some fun things with my daughter over the holidays.

Thanks for the continued encouragement, everyone. It means the world!

Hugs,

Cally

Cally, I'm glad to read such a positive update and I hope the meds help the vision problem.

Sounds like you have a busy holiday season planned, I hope all goes well

Keep us updated when you can and continued recovery

Hey Dusty's Mom!

Thanks for checking on me. I've been pretty active here lately, just haven't been droning on about ME.

But now that you ask....

I am feeling GREAT right now. I am almost totally symptom free (just a bit blurry vision every now and again.) Eating and drinking and speaking is normal. I am getting stronger every day and the women at the gym have noticed that I am moving much better and have a lot more energy. I've gained 7 pounds and am about where I'd like to stay--maybe 2-3 more pounds. Binging has been so fun, but time to rein it in a bit!

My hair on my head is beginning to produce peach fuzz, and it looks brown--not gray as some people report! My leg/armpit/other (ahem) hairs have not begun to grow yet so I'm enjoying some razor free time. I've read some never get leg hair again--wouldn't that be neat!

As to whether this is will be long term improvement is yet to be seen. I'm just taking it day to day and enjoying these improvements and if/when a bad spell comes along, I'll just deal with it.

Thanks again for asking.
