So most of you guys know that I foster kitties, and although we have multiple cats of our own, I'm pretty good about being able to let them go when the time comes. I love every single foster who comes through my door but every now and again we get one that REALLY tugs at my heart strings...

This one currently would be Lionel.
He's a beautiful little cream tabby & white kitten, approx. 4 months old. Ever since he came here, Pria would sit outside the foster room and paw at him under the door. They would talk to each other as well. Then, whenever I would go into the room, Lionel would run out and right up to Pria, where they would headbutt, grrom each other and play chase games, etc. They seriously have this love affair going on and it is SO cute.
They even have VERY similar personalities! Lionel is a gentle little lovebug, super affectionate. They also have similar LOOKS! The same sweet face, and they even have the same white "eyeliner" around their eyes.

So Lionel now spends most of his time out of the foster room with all of our kitties, and other than the occasional hiss from Cleo & Teyah, the rest all seem to love him. I keep trying to tell myself that I DON'T need "The Terrific Ten"...but he's pulling...pulling hard...
I even think Dana might be coming around to the idea.
Tell me guys, am I nuts for even THINKING this?

Not nuts. Our kitties choose us, not the other way around. And it seems this little guy has chosen your family to be his family. And Pria agrees!

So long as you can afford to care for him beyond just food, water and litter, then I say...... do it!!!

Awwww the way you've described how Lional is with Pria is exactly how Jack is with Rosie
He sounds so happy as well with everyone

And i'm with Linda, if you can afford it then do it
The Terrific Ten sounds perfect as well

When you have nine, what's one more, as long as you can afford the vet bills and he fits in so well? Pria has already chosen him as a family Christmas present from the sound of it!

Ummmm, I love the idea of The Terrific Ten!
Although I don't remember seeing any pictures of Lionel (was he with the last batches of pictures you posted and I didn't see them?), he sounds like a little lover.

If Dana will agree, I say go for it! What's one more????
And I agree with Tricia...Pria wants him as a Christmas present!

He's in this thread: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=224536

His eyes are pretty much all cleared up now.
He's currently purring away happily on my lap.

OH!!! Thank gosh the spousal unit does not read this board. This would be absolute final blow for any talks about fostering EVER! I never even thought of this. We have had many talks about ME (or us for that matter) not being able to return fosters but we never even got as far as what would we do if one of our kitties got very attached to a foster. I do not think we could go against that. Do not ever ever let this thread be left open on the laptop, I will have to think about this now!

You again, he is gorgeous and I think 10 will go if 9 worked

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
That's just too sweet! It broke our hearts to split up Billy and Bing, but we wouldn't have had room for Chumley if we hadn't....
Of course - you don't live in an RV.

My only "dose of reality" thought here is - what is the age distribution of your kitties? Ours is such that four of them became seniors this year, next year Flowerbelle joins the gang, then Ming Loy. Chumley and Billy are our "babies" at four years old, but with his GI and dental issues, Chum will likely be an ongoing expense, and we're also going to be aggressive in trying to "squelch" the progression of the FIV.

You may want to consider starting a "vet savings fund" to ensure you've got everything you need if you ever have to manage several expensive emergencies or illnesses (knock wood) in any given year....

We have one hun!
We have a savings bond set up specifically in case of kitty expenses. Always better to be safe rather than sorry! The kitties always come first.

I'm the one who named him in the first place! Not into Lionel? I name all of the fosters. Most don't come with names, and those who do, they're usually not great names.

Hmm... but the Terrific Ten has such a nice ring to it....!

He's is absolutely adorable though... and it sounds like Lionel has already made his decision on keeping you. This is probably the worst place to post if you were looking for anyone of us to say, "Nah, you shouldn't keep him." We're are all a little biased. lol

They really do choose us, don't they.

As long as you're prepared for it (and it certainly sounds like you are), why not?

He's such a cutie.

"Ten" is such a nice round number, Kailie. Keeping the little lovebug would be a great Christmas present for Pria and your other babies.
