I went around 8 or 9 am last year and had no issues getting what i wanted...tho i did go to multiple petsmarts after first wont let me use anymore coupons(after the first batch was in car i opened all the tidy cats and pulled out coupons and did it again...bought MANY MANY buckets

This year got a killer deal on science diet food and cat litter so will only hit it for the cat trees...I told my mom they were going to go on black friday sale as there were about 10 each at 2 petsmarts and in a baby blue about a week ago.

Probably try to get another 2 trees and call it quits as things are a bit tight at moment

Oooh I really like that Tidy Cats deal! I got the Black Friday ad leaked but hadn't checked it out yet. I have off that day so I might just fight some crowds in the later morning (forget doing the 4am thing again )

I don't think that Petsmart would have the huge lines that say Walmart or Best Buy would have. (BTW, Walmart is having 3 starting times for their Doorbuster Sales - midnight, 5:00 and 11:00. At least they are trying to break up the bedlam!) Couple that with the fact that the majority of their stuff is for dogs... Well, I'm planning on hitting it later in the morning (you know, maybe 6:30 or 7:00 ) and hoping the stuff I want is still there.

Ha, don't think so. I think more Canadians are shopping in the US than ever before - because of the deals and our dollar almost at par.

This is the first year we're actually going south of the border for Christmas shopping. I want to shop local, but the deals can't compare.

Aww, I'd love to but we don't have passports yet. We need to hurry up and get on that because we're only an hour away from the border.

Lei, I picked up that exact bed today for the kitties! They've all been taking turns.

Tidy cat is $9.99 right now if you don't want to wait. Just look for a label outside the container for the coupon. Some areas might have a gift card. We bought one the other night and was able to open the container and use the coupon right then.

There is a pdf $5/$5 PM me if you want it.

Ah... the FF, Drinkwell and Cat tree deals piqued my interest. That $7.99 bed... my boys have one and they like it, but sleep lots of places in my house, including MY BED!
150lbs of litter for $21.55! Woot!
The $5 coupons are in the 27lbs +3lbs bonus.

LOL, I might have to try that. I'm not a huge fan of the original Tidy Cats Scoop (I like the Small Spaces kind), but for that price I'll just have to suck it up, I think. And I like the bed. . .the kitties need more beds, and that is a good price. And Cat Chow is only $9.99, plus a $5 gift card, PLUS I have some $6 checks from Purina (anyone else joined the Purina Pro Club? if you use Purina food and have/feed more than 5 cats, I highly recommend it), so if they let me use all the discounts I might be able to feed the ferals for free this winter!

I hate going to the city on Black Friday. And I never thought about going to Petsmart for shopping deals! I wonder is PetCo is having sales. I wouldn't be able to go until noon-ish. I wonder if that would be late enough for the crowds to dissipate, but early enough that they won't be sold out. . .hmmm.

ETA: do the Black Friday ads come out in tomorrow's paper? Or do they wait for Tuesday or something like that? I'm SO not a shopper that I've never paid attention.

We were at Petsmart tonight, and they have the notice up that they open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday. So you can sleep in - for BF shopping anyway!

The ads for BF come out in the Thanksgiving Day newspaper. It's always about 1" thick (in Denver) with less than 1/4" being actual newspaper. Most places anymore post their ads online too.

That's an amazing price on the cat tree...very tempting! That tree is sturdy as heck. I used to have one here, and it was extremely popular!

Kass, you could come shopping here!

I remember now. . . . I used to deliver newspapers when I was a teen. You'd think I'd remember something like that! But just shows how much I DON'T pay attention to the sales ads, LOL.

There are some decent Boxing Day sales, but NOTHING like Black Friday. I know so many people who head to the States to take advantage of all of the deals!

I was at Petsmart today. . .if anyone wants to stock up on litter and not have to deal with the Friday crowds, the Tidy Cats bucket with the $5 coupon is $9.99 right now. Still a good price, and fighting the crowds on Friday might not be worth the extra dollar off.
hem haw, hem haw

I use Scoop Away kitty litter but I may have to switch to a less expensive kind and boy does that Tidy Cats sound like a good deal- 30 lbs for $9.99??? plus a $5 coupon! gues where I'm going tonight

Also, thank you, Winchester for the heads up on the Purina club thing, I had been thinking about looking into that

Anybody go to Petsmart this morning? There weren't too many people when I got there a little before 7:00, but it was filling up. I got 200 cans of Fancy Feast (which should keep her pickiness happy for many months to come). I also got 3 bags of World's Best cat litter for $2.99 each I had three $2.00 of coupons and the bags all had $3.00 off coupons attached and they all worked. So between my Petsperks savings and my total coupon savings, I saved a total of $54.39. Not too bad.

I wanted to spend more time browsing, but DH was with me, so I was lucky I got what I got In fact, I didn't intend to buy 200 cans of Fancy Feast (I was thinking 50), but he was just tossing the whole cases in the cart and that was that

I really wanted to look at the tree for $99, but I knew he wouldn't let me buy it anyway, so I didn't bother.

Told the hubby we're heading there shortly ... hopefully it's not emptied out

That is a great deal on WBCL.
I was there when they opened and got 2 of the small foam doggie beds for Dexter & Isis.
They are really nice.

I was well stocked on cat things already (I already bought them their Christmas stuff and food/littter/etc), but I shopped vicariously through Jack this year for all of the deals I wanted on doggy items for Ranger & Macy! Jack works at one of the local Petsmart stores while he's finishing up his degree/etc so since he had to open today anways and he sweetly offered to pick up some sale items for me, I gave him some $$ ahead of time and a list of things I wanted for the doggies! He got a new bed for Ranger's crate (the other one was getting ragged) and lots of Christams toys & chews for both pups! He said the total was only around $50 for everything (origional price was well over $100 worth of stuff)! So between the Black Friday sale there and his discount, I think it was a good deal! He's bringing all the stuff over later so I can see what all he came up with!

As far as Black Friday goes, that's it for me I'll be decorating my apartment this weekend with my nephew and Jack, then waiting for the cyber-Monday deals instead! I can't stand crowds, being run over by shopping carts, or mauled by horrid drivers...rather stay home and decorate

(Jack said that they sold out of a lot of the kitty litter that was on sale earlier at their store (the tidy cats and a few other brands), so for those of you who missed the deals at your stores- try online shopping Monday to see if they have something similar; not sure if they will or not, but it may be worth looking into. He also said that a lot of the bigger ticketed items like dog crates/beds were on sale super cheap as an incentive to get a lot of people through the doors, but other than the Christmas-themed items, a lot of the regular treats/toys weren't on sale or only by a dollar or two...so for those who want a good deal- the "big ticket" pet items- and the Christmas themed stuff would be the way to go!)

I got 6 things of litter and a tree and some half off dry foods. Had a tree on floor and one in overstock was better color/carpet. Tempted to buy both but i really cant deal with that many fuzzys from the carpet falling out. Never even looked at the fancy feast wanted to see what that scene was like:P
Also for the cats enjoyment got a electric blanket

We left house at 1030 and not to bad at all.
