Yikes! Oh you poor thing. I have seen aides try to move heavy people and get hurt.

Take care of yourself and "enjoy" as much as you can your down time.

Get better!

That's aweful, I'm soo sorry you got hurt! The hospital that I did clinicals in had a really strict "lifting" policy, especially on the bariatriac patients. (Even though I was there as a student RCP, we'd still get called to help sometimes). We'd use these special lifting devices and multiple people so nobody hurt themselves.

I hope you heal up quickly and feel better soon! It sounds like you have a great little furry nurse to look after you

Oh no! Your poor thing; have you seen a doctor yet? A torn rotator cuff isn't anything to mess with. Workman's comp should take care of your medical bills.
I was an aide in a nursing home for years, so I know what you're talking about. You're expected to handle people that are twice your size and do it without hurting yourself. I'm convinced my back problems are a direct result of that job.
Hope you feel better soon.

OW! I did that about 4 years ago and it hurts A LOT.
I lifted up a 200 lb. playhouse with one arm - dumb of me! My advice is to keep putting heat on it* - that's what really helps. (I'm having a recurrence right now - it's a weak spot on my body - but I have physio tomorrow and hope that will take care of it again.)

Take care of yourself and baby that shoulder for a few days. The heat helps with the pain, too.

*You might be told to ice your shoulder for the first 3 days to reduce swelling, but after that heat is great and feels so good, and helps increase blood flow to the area to help with healing. (For re-injury I go straight to the heat.)
