No matter how many times I've gone through it....

I still get the first day of school jitters!

I start the fall semester at college tonight and I have 3 classes I'll be in class until 9:30 I'm looking forward to school, but I always get nervous before class starts! any other adult students still get butterflies?

What if the other kids don't like me???

I still have nightmares about the first day of school, and about taking tests for which I haven't prepared, or forgetting to attend a class, or attending a class in my pyjamas.

I started at a new school almost every year growing up, and sometimes changed schools in mid-year, so those first-day jitters are a real terror to me.

How could the other kids not like you, Katie? You're fun and you like cheesecake.

It's been a while since I took any courses, but I always remember being nervous the first class, especially since most of the time we had to go around the room for introductions and tell a little about ourselves.

They will have to answer to us if they don't like you. I get that way still when I start on a new project.

That's a common dream/nightmare when you are stressed about something. Have them all the time.

No, always loved the first day of school, HS, college, grad school. I just liked school.

I am an adult student (31) and recently returned after an 8.5 year absence.

I get real nervous.

Taking 5 classes, 3 of those online.

well, everything went fine my classes seem interesting and my profs seem nice

and in one of my classes we did have the going around the room and tell a little about yourselves I made everyone laugh it was in my organizational behavior and leadership skills class and I said that my expectations of the class were that I would learn just how bad the management is at my company

I really did get myself worked up today my butterflies turned into "I feel like I'm going to puke!" but I made it! I figured out that today was my 25th first day of school if you count each semester of school as a new "first day"

I'm 32 and went back after being gone for almost 10 years, this will be my third year back. It's easier in a way now that I'm older (maybe a bit wiser?) I appreciate my education now... if only I knew then what I know now
