Morning
Because I always take the kids on a picnic I have to pack things they like but try to be healthy
Normally a selection of cobs, cheese, ham, jam and some with salad. Yoghurts, crisps, a piece of fruit each banana, apple, grapes.Cocktail sausages Drinks, usually juice and normally cakes

If it was just for me and hubby I would do a quiche, cobs, a ceaser salad, chicken drumsticks and wine!!

Nothing...BF and I dont do picnics...thats just because picnics usually involve bugs and or kids...So thats a no go for us I try and avoid them at all costs. The only picnic we go to is the family reunion once a year and even then Im begging him to go as soon as we get there because of all the misbehaved kids running around like hooligans.

We don't do picnics that much and I don't know why. We do a lot of family dinners, where everybody will come to our house and we grill something. We'll all sit outside by the pool and have our dinner there.

But DH and I like to go to Ricketts Glen, a state park, and we'll walk up all the waterfalls. It gets fairly steep in places, but it's a lot of fun. We'll pack some sandwiches and some kind of veggie salad. Lots of unsweetened iced tea. Maybe some different cheeses. And whatever cookies I feel like baking. It's a nice time, although several years ago when we were there, I dropped my digital camera in the water and had to buy a new one.

We don't do picnics as such, but used to go hiking a lot and would bring a packed lunch. This would always include granola bars, fruit, juice, and a sandwich or mixed salad.

Picnics are WAY too much work so the only way I'll do 'em is if we pick up take-out.

Really... planning the picnic, buying the groceries, making the food, packing it up, don't forget all the utensils and plates and glasses, bring up the ice chest with ice packs and blanket, load into the car, drive, unload, unpack it all, eat, pack up the dirty dishes and blanket, drive home, unload dirty dishes and blanket, wash dirty dishes and blanket, unpack food, clean out ice chest and store... come on!

If someone else wants to do all that, I'll happily bring the wine.

Have never been on a picnic. I certainly wouldn't go to familial areas, because I can't stand being around kids if I don't have to be. Would like to go on a nice romantic picnic though one day.

There's no place like home
We don't have what people call "normal" picnics. When DH and I are hiking in some remote canyon, we'll pack trail food and stop by a creek or on the top of a ridge and snack on that. We always call that a picnic. So if you consider GORP (good old raisins and peanuts, with the addition of peanut M&M's and banana chips) and beef jerky picnic food, then that's what we have.

The best spot for a picnic is along the Shafer Trail inside Canyonlands National Park just above the Colorodo Gooseneck and below Dead Horse State Park. I can sit there all day.

When Pat and I go to the river down the road we bring sandwich supplies and water.
When we go tubing, we bring beer, water, and stop at subway for subs on the way!

Haven't been on a picnic in a long time. But next time Yosemite goes, I want to go too. I like that menu she posted.
