Since last summer or so, Genever pukes a lot. Nothing we tried helped. It is frequent, but inconsistent. Sometimes twice in a day and once the next day, then 9 days before the next puke, etc. I've posted a few other times about her vomiting so I won't repeat background info.

The past week or 2 she's been real bad with puking and hairballs. She hates to be brushed, and therefore we hate to brush her. We give her Laxatone though, she loves it. So this weekend we started diligently brushing her, at least one brushful of hair a day, or for as long as we can keep her pinned down.
Then she gets the Laxatone as a treat. This week, no more hairballs so far!!! But she is still puking everyday (except Monday). Since she puked pretty much everyday for the past 2 weeks I needed to call the vet to see what i could try. We are packing and moving, so it may be stress contributing to it, but she doesn't seem to be acting stressed..

Oh yeah, she still eats, drinks, pees and poops ok. She plays and sleeps as usual too.

I talked to the vet this afternoon, and she suggested we try Reglan, I think that must be what she got a shot of when I took her in a while ago for vomiting, but this time we're going to try pills. Maybe as a maintenance thing every once in a while if needed. She said it should help even if the vomiting is due to stress, and also to keep up the brushing and laxatone.

Anyone have experience with the pill form of Reglan, used as a maintenance med?

I really hope this works, I am sick of cleaning up cat puke, and I'm sure Genever is sick of throwing up all the time! It's not a pleasant experience! Poor baby... I will let you know how it works.

In the meantime, some vibes would be appreciated for my G-cat's belly to feel better... thanks!

One of the newer cats I got has issues puking-nothing wrong with her. So far wet food or wet food and big chunk dry works(royal canin oral, friskies dental, science diet t/d) few bites of "reg" cat food and its over...

Thank you!

It doesn't matter if she eats wet or dry food, the only difference is wet food puke is harder to clean up than dry..

She eats NB Duck & Pea dry food, and stopped eating the duck & pea wet, so I went back to Wellness wet, because she likes it, but really she always has preferred dry. So she gets a mix of wet and dry.

She also doesn't seem to do the scarf-n-barf. Sometimes if i give her only 1/4 of a 3-oz can she will puke. Sometimes if she eats a half can at a time, she won't puke. No patterns!!??!!

Anyway I'm picking up the Reglan tomorrow morning.

Well I picked up the pills this morning, and lucky enough they are small enough that a half pill will fit in a pill pocket, and Genever ate it right up. I'm supposed to give her 1/4 to 1/2 pill twice a day, and I have 14 pills. So I guess 2 weeks, and we'll see how it goes. I hope this stops the puking at least for a while!!
