Hey everybody I was wondering if any of you foster parents are having issues with KMR. Here is my observation, PetAg supposedly reformulated their KMR formula a little over a year ago or so. When I bottle fed Goose and her litter mates i had absolutely no problem with them, they did very well and grew up lovely. My last 2 bottle babies and my 2 now are having issues. My biggest problem I am having is extreme gas and then bad cases of diarrhea that last for a week. Working as a vet tech I have come across some kittens with the same issue that come in for help. I noticed that when a new can of KMR is bought, the symptoms come back but last for a day or two. I just was wondering if you guys were having the same problems. I know it could be numerous different things like parasites or switching from mothers milk to formula after being found as strays, but this is sooooo stressful on both me (cause i'm a worrywart) and the kittens. Please let me know if anybody is having problems I greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance

My vet no longer carries KMR, but instead uses ProBiolac. They switched over about 2 years ago. I guess I think it's because they liked the formula of ProBiolac better?

ok I'm giving this a BUMP! but I also need some more help, I want to change formula for these kittens, I just read the issues they were/are having with KMR and am not very happy at all. I just don't know what other formula to use, I know Just Born is available where I live and I can probably find large animal milk re-placer because I'm completely surrounds by farms and feed stores but I'm not sure what other brand to use. Pro-Biolac was mentioned and I know my hospital carries the puppy formula but I absolutely hate the stuff. It is very very gritty and is usually hard as a rock so it makes it super difficult to reconstitute. Please anybody throw suggestions at me, I'm sooo stressed out because of these kittens cause all I do is worry about them. I just want happy healthy kittens again. Thank You everybody!!!

I used Just Born before and had issues with it, but many on here swear by it.

I did find one that I liked as much as KMR, Petsmart has it. I forget the name, but it is a little cheaper than KMR and the can is white with gold and red labels. If I ever have bottle babies again, that is what I am going to use. My last bottle baby (now over 1yr old, around the time you say the changed the formula) seemed sensitive to KMR and I switched to the Petsmart one and he was soooo much better.

I hope that helps, check the Petsmart website. If you can't find it I will do a serious Google search to see if I can find it for you.

**EDIT: Found it!

I hope it helps him!

It could be worms too, you might want to get a fecal done. I had to worm babies before (under vet supervision) because the worms were killing them.

Keep us updated!
