Stephanie,

Are you SERIOUS!? I know exactly where you are. We go to Costco all the time, Petco occasionally, etc.

Here is the "little guy's" story:

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=218087

My daughter swims in Granbury early each morning M-Th, so I'd be happy to deliver him as part of our route. It's only 30 more minutes of driving.

I hope your husband sees the value in taking this little boy. I have three cats myself and it's manageable. I also have 2 medium dogs, so I've reached my limit as it does get costly, not to mention the responsibility.

Baby Boy was wormed this morning, so that is taken care of. He seems healthy otherwise, just a little worn out from his ordeal.

Thanks for considering him. It means a lot.

C'mon Stephanie!

and fingers crossed that this little baby has a happy ending.

And Cally, many thanks to you for the "dramatic rescue" and saving his life!

Wow.....sending tons of for this little guy. He's so cute, and looks so comfortable.....especially after his ordeal!!

I'm getting some good feelings about this......something good is going to happen.

I really would love to adopt him, but I don't think the DH will go for a 3rd kitty. Plus, the last time we added a kitty to our home our older girl was NOT happy and it took a good 2 YEARS for her to come out of her shell and return to normal. My other girl has herpes and I'm not sure what a new kitty would do to her. I really don't want her to have a flare up.

Let me think about it and talk to the DH, though.

OK, I'm keeping the faith. If not Stephanie--SOMEONE!!!

As for the name, I've been calling him Percy. My daughter had to read "Percy Jackson Lightning Thief" for a summer project and the protagonist was the son of Poseidon, the God of Water. Seems pretty appropriate!

Good night...I'm off to do fireworks with my daughter. Will get some more photos tomorrow.

As Mike Blanche says - contact local press. And I will reiterate- tap into social media. Are you on Facebook? PM me. I will post him. I have networked with people all over the country. It is amazing how fast this stuff can go viral and I don't mean disease.

I was over at my neighbor's and was delighted to have Percy approach the cage door today. He has decided "hands are GOOD!" I held him on his back in my hands and he made biscuits in the air with his paws. He still gets pretty nervous when I put him down, but then there are 15 adult Birmans and Wirehairs ready to investigate him...intimidating for any kitten!

I put him on the counter for photos. He's coming along well, and his coat is SO MUCH SOFTER and he's filling out. He especially likes fish flavored wet foods and never misses a meal. He's been wormed and flea treated.

And now here's Percy!:

He appears to be at about exactly the age that people seem to throw kittens out of the house.

Does he have a little injury under his chin?

You say you're a "very private" person, and I can appreciate that, but a good reporter could write the story in such a way that your name, etc., would not be mentioned. I would arrange for the local shelter to handle calls about him, and do the adoption.

Sweet bejeebers, he's so cute! Still trying to convince the husband...

Also, I belong to a FB group called Pawsitively Texas. I could check into posting his story there. Also, a friend is on a CH group and she offered to post his story on that page as well.

Yes, Mike, he has a little scrape on his chin. It's healing well and is being cleaned, treated twice a day.

Anyone is welcome to post the story/photos. He needs all the help he can get.

I'm headed to a HUGE party later today, and the hostess is a veterinarian, so I'm assuming there will be a lot of animal lovers there. I'm going to make a HELP WANTED flyer and put it up on the fridge at her house and maybe someone will see it and get smitten.

Stephanie, do you have an anniversary, birthday or other occasion coming up? Ask for the kitten!!!! On my 45th birthday, my dh kept asking what I wanted for my birthday and I was quiet. On my actual birthday he came home from work and I met him at the door with Ziggy in my arms and exclaimed, "THIS is what I want for my birthday!" Best present I ever got! LOL

Be sure to put a picture of him on the poster!

But this one would be a close second.

DH just gave me "the look" for the present idea.
We have an anniversary in October and my birthday is in November. He's not buying it.

ETA: If you get a taker for him before I can convince my DH, please let him go to a good home and don't worry about me.

It's definitely "first come first blessed" but I hope you can convince him. Want my dh to talk to him about the "joys of the 3rd cat?" LOL

Well, he did finally break down and ask me if he'd been to the vet yet to be cleared of any health problems. Maybe he's starting to break...

Are you kidding me???? That's good news!

I have some news, too! He's cleared of issues, and better yet, he's being neutered in the morning! The vet agreed to make a good boy out of him early!

All he'll need is rabies at 16 weeks!

PLEASE DH! You'll have a couple of thousand adoring women and a handful of men SWOONING over you for YEARS if you JUST SAY YES!!! You KNOW you WANT to!
