When Poppy Met Byron

Sorry about the poor quality of the pic - it was taken with my mobile phone. Digital camera has a flat battery just now (it's a rechargeable one) and I can't find the lead for it anywhere.

One day that python will think Poppy would make a great snack!

Very brave Poppy, I'm imagining the surprised face of Poppy when Byron is big enough for him..

Byron's almost fully grown. Royal (Ball) Pythons are quite small. The males only grow to a maximum of 4 1/2 ft. Females can grow to 5 - 6 ft but a cat would still be too big for them.

LOL! One of Zoey's fav things to do is sit by, or on, the Wizards tank and watch him slither around

One of the funniest things I saw was when my lovely black cat Spook was still alive. He was sitting pretty much in the same place as Poppy - only it was Bobby our other Python who was out.

Bobby was sitting on top of the little cave (their house) and Spook kept batting the glass with his paw.

Bobby sat there for a few minutes watching Spook then got fed up with Spook always banging the glass, so, quick as a flash, as snakes do, Bobby struck the glass, mouth wide open.

Spook jumped back looked at me with total surprise on his face as if to say "WHAT...WAS...THAT?????"

I swear I could hear Bobby laughing as he slithered back into the house LOL.

He never banged the glass again although he would sit close to the viv and just go to sleep.
