Help with adoption brochure suggestions!

This is what we currently have: at the bottom of the page are pull-off tabs that say "Cool Kitty Charlie, Call (our names and number)."

Should we go with this or does anyone have any suggestions?

...and we'll work on transport if anyone wants to adopt him that doesn't live nearby - just PM me if you're interested in this doll!

Yeah, well, the "only" problem is we suspect he's very food aggressive. He has a lot of "battle" wounds for such a young guy. We don't know if he'll get along with other cats - and suspect he won't. He chased off the ferals, basically, (they're back now that he's been "off the streets" for a week or so) and we're almost positive he's the reason Fat Head (orange tabby male) went to the hospital with an abscess from a bite wound in his paw. We have NO idea about dogs. But he is the sweetest thing.

And we think he was abused and abandoned... or ran away... because he does love being loved - but is nervous about it at the same time (though that's already getting better). He definitely does NOT like being reached down to - he likes jumping up to your level (table, couch) and being petted and rubbing - or having us crouch down and then pet him. Though he's totally comfortable wrapping himself completely around our legs, making it nearly impossible to walk anywhere, so in the past, feet did not hurt him.

He gets overstimulated easily - and bites. Not hard, but not a "love" bite either. And he will hiss and swat. We've learned to read his signs already. But it's kinda strange (for us) to have a kitty on a lap that just wants to be on the lap and not petted. (Though he also wants almost endless pets sometimes). It's also funny to have a cat almost run at you, rub and head bump you, want a couple of pets while he rubs his body along our arms... then turn and bite - and immediately come back for more rubs. Poor confused little boy!

...but we'll save all that for the call. Online we'll put him up as special needs. We'll adopt him to a multiple kitty home if we trust that the person understands his situation and knows how to work with it.

We're just happy he's so friendly, such a charmer despite his issues, and uses the litter boxes.

Sweet face on Charlie, especially in the bottom row Thank you for learning much about him. I like "lying next to laps" - It sounds precise and makes the reader wonder Hmm, why so precise?. I would remove "being petted" and "climbing into" but that's just my opinion. Charlie sounds like Penny a little- She always protests when I reach down to her but I think it's part of her act

Laurie
He has such an expressive face! Is he missing the tip of his right ear? I think he will make a great kitty for someone who is willing to work with him, probably best in a single kitty household like you said.

Ear tipping is done when a feral cat is spayed/neutered before they are released back into the colony. That way you can tell which ones still need to be done. We have two cats at the shelter right now with the tip of the ear clipped. They were caught with some of the ferals in the TNR program but turned out to be just really scared kitties, not feral at all.

I think most people around here are familiar with TNR - it's practiced in numerous towns around here. It hasn't been a stumbling block in adopting out other kitties. ...and that ear was really shredded anyway.

...though I do think cats ear-tipped at this particular vet are unique - most ear tips are done on the left, and all the kitties that get taken care of here get ear-tipped on the right LOL.

c1atsite - good point on the being really specific. It'll probably help the discussion, especially if it does raise the question.

OK, here's what we're rolling with. Thank you for your help!

Aww! Good luck finding him a home. He reminds a little bit of my foster boy Casper who wanted love but would bite from a combo of fear and stimulation. Months and months later - he is still afraid of the other cats but is SUCH a love bug with me!!!

He will find a good home in no time. If Bella wasn't the boss around here I would love to have him in MY lap

I love love love love love love love him Laurie!

I'll be sending tons of adoption his way. If I can adopt Bea out, you can find him a home!

Well, we put out flyers everywhere. All the vet staff know he NEEDS a home because we can't have a permanent foster.... they say they get - "fairly frequently" calls for older kitties, because people don't want to have to deal with the kitten phase, and they know ideally he should be an alone kitty.

We did change the brochure to include the info that he's neutered and up-to-date on shots &etc.....

...but we didn't get a single call on him. Put him up on Petfinder - nothing.

He's been with us a month, and THANKFULLY a spot opened up in a foster network that works closely with our vet, so Charlie left us today.

Saying good bye was really hard, and it just reminded us why our calling isn't fostering.

Hopefully this wonderful organization will find him the purfect furrever home - he has become the sweetest thing ever. He's SO cute, no longer scared of toys and rolls around and does summersaults while playing - it's just so fun to watch him - and on his stubby little legs it's just so - cute LOL. He is so very loving with a lovely rumbly purr, and just such a silly kitty cat! I'm glad we got him on his start - we just feel terrible we can't keep him and didn't send him on his way to the final leg, just another intermediate step.

I've nothing useful to add. I just wanted to say that that bottom left picture may be the MOST adorable cat pic I've ever seen, including all the pics of my cats! I bet that seals the deal for a loving family!

Charlie came back to us Monday night. The complication was that he tested positive for FIV. The issues are in this thread: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=217397

Gotta change the brochure and replace all of them.....

But here's his Petfinder listing: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16546394
