One of the strays outside that we thought was a boy, apparently had kittens. They look to be about 5-6 weeks old. We have to give them away as soon as possible. We cannot have anymore cats. There are 4 of them and we have 2 of them in a box in our house. The other two hid under our furnace outside where there is insolation etc.

I am just now learning to how to cope with and raise a 2 week old kitten and now I am completely stressed and have no idea what to do. These kittens look about the age my big boys were when we got them a few years ago. They were already drinking out of a saucer etc but so far these kittens won't drink any of the milk. I don't have enough formula and only one bottle [for Sugar] to feed them that way. I am seriously freaking out.

No no no no, don't giver her away for free... there have been horror stories of free to good home cats ending up as snake food, bait for fighting dogs, ect.

I would not post an animal on craigslist (well I could never give any of mine away in the first place, lol) but if you do that, always have an "adoption fee."

we're going to find people we actually know, to take them if at all possible. i mixed a little regular milk with kmr and fed them with a dropper [only have one bottle for the 2 wk old i'm raising] and put some in a really small saucer as well. they drank it out of the dropper and licked it off my hand but couldnt quite figure out the dish yet. they're sleeping in a big box in the back bathroom secluded from my big cats as of right now. i have one person who might be taking one, and my friend is going to come to try to help me get the other two tomorrow [since they were hiding in an unreachable place outside].

the stray that had them has been around for awhile. we feed it and it sleeps in our shed sometimes etc and its brother is one of our cats but we have never been able to tame this one and we thought for sure it was a boy because it's never been fat ever and it always is around. we are baffled as to how and when and where this cat had these kittens. they are about 5-6 wks old judging by their size etc. we're just confused as to how the mysteriously showed up and the mom never has left our land really or ever had them with her until now.

Oh no! No free kittens on craigslist or anywhere else!! It drives me absolutely nuts to see those things!!

Do your best to find a no kill shelter. I wish I had more to offer you, but honestly, that is the best way to go.

I know you won't put them on craigslist, thank God.

Unfortunately we don't have a no kill shelter around here so that's not an option either. Right now we're just talking to the cat lovers we know to see if any of them would want a kitten.

We found one of the grey ones today and it's in the box with the other two but the one grey one is hiding good under the furnace so I don't know when we'll get it. Just wait til it sneaks out like we did with this one I suppose. I hope we can find people to take them. I cannot afford to pay for and keep 4 more cats or I totally would but it's really just not an option since we already have 6 + the new baby Sugar. :[

I would never put up free kitten ads anywhere including Craigslist and I won't take them to a shelter if it's not no kill. I will let them eat me out of house and home before I do that.

It sounds like you've got your hands ful there!
If you can find a foster home for them to start getting socialized, it may be easier for them to be adopted too
.
Another thing is, is there any way you could get this Mommy cat spayed, then released? If she doesn't get spayed, the kittens will just keep coming and coming...

we are going to call the humane society to see if we can get a trap and then get her spayed and bring her back because we are working on taming her and we dont want to get rid of her but we can't have anymore kittens running around

Whenever someone needs a have a heart trap, my vet refers them to me because I have one that I loan out. He even borrows it from time to time.

Call your vet and see if they know someone like me who would be willing to loan you one.

If I lived closer, you could use mine.

My mom knows a girl at work that has one. We're going to try to borrow that one. I know that we could probably grab the cat and stick it in a carrier BUT we'd get clawed up in the process. I am just hoping that the vet will be able to spay her seeing as she's not completely tame.

Still haven't found the 4th kitten but the 3 we have are doing well. Using the litterbox, eating some mushy kitten chow and drinking milk+kmr. We let them out a few times to let them run around the living room but it take me + my mom and brother to keep them under control they're so frisky. The little gray one is a bit scared still.

We called a couple of ppl who are seriously considering taking one so hopefully they'll have good homes soon :]

Pics to come later

We are keeping our fingers crossed for you.

That happened to me. A little black girl, Spot was here for a while. I thought she was a he until I saw she was a nursing mother!! Brought her and Beeba, her son in. Had her spayed, him neutered and planned on a long life with these guys.

I lost dear Spot to a nasty thing...Chylousperitoneum. But she left me her baby boy at 9 months of age. He is now our bud and has turned into a beautiful friend.

depends on how many flag happy people you have on CL. Here you cant post for a fee unless you have shots then if you post a fee and its higher than what the flaggers like you get flagged. I went through that with a cat I completely vetted. She was vetted came with a starter kit for the new owners-including litter box, cat carrier, toys, 8lb bag of food, dishes, collar, vet records! it got flagged.

I have never had a problem posting my rescued cats on craigslist. There is a vendetta against rescues there, but for the most part as long as you are very explicit in your ad about how the cat/kittens are rescues, describe each kitten in a nice bio, take quality, nice photos, charge a reasonable adoption fee, and basically just show that you care about the animal and are a responsible, caring individual; those ads usually have no problem staying up. Many of the ads in the pet section are absolutely heartbreaking, and make you lose faith in humans, so I don't blame flaggers. But there are some legitimate ads, and those ads are usually left alone.

3 people are supposed to let us know soon if they are going to take one. We're pretty sure the stray momma came and took the other one/moved it because we haven't seen it since the first night and I'm pretty positive there were 4 [my mom thinks I'm going crazy].

Right now my little Sugar [3 wks old today] is so sweet and playful for her age and smells like formula and rice bags and those 3 little beasts in their big box smell like... cats. Lol. They're using the litter box, eating mushy kitten chow with milk and drinking some water. They'd make perfect pets but we just gotta make sure we find the right people to give them to.

If not I'm gonna be stuck paying for 3 cats to get spayed/neutered and we'd have to put them outside.

The people posting the ads aren't the problem I am speaking of..it's the responders.

I guess I just don't trust anyone when it comes to finding homes for cats.

I am the same way farleyv. I am very selective about who takes the kittens. One of the people who was interested isn't taking one now because her husband won't let her so we're back to square one for at least one of them. The other two people are still seriously considering it. One girl I am pretty sure is going to take one she just has to find a good time to come pick one out because she works.

kitten #3

Someone is going to be taking kitten #1 either Monday or Tuesday. Still trying to find good homes for the other two little ones.
