We had been searching for a lost stray for three weeks we nicknamed, Hazel. Unfortunately, we found out she was trapped in the support beam in the house which, would have made it difficult to rescue her. Too make a long story short thank God she found her way out and made it to our porch yesterday morning. Hazel was very emaciated and dehydrated. We would like to take her to the Vet but we don't won't to stress her out after being through all the trauma. She has been eating tremendously well and drinking lots of water. But we would like to know if there's any other things we need to do to get her back to a healthy weight? Thanks advance.

If an animal has been starving the impulse is to feed feed feed. That can be hard on their bodies. Try to feed her freuqent but small meals.

I would feed several times a day, a little bit at a time. Also, I would watch this cat closely for signs of liver problems, depending on how long it went without eating. I hope the cat makes a total recovery.

We have been feeding the little brave soul little meals mainly wet food along with dry food. She lets us know when she is hungry, but she has been just lying around mostly, hiding under the bed. She is using the litter box and walking around a little. I'm just worried about her.

But I will keep the small meals a coming for her.
