Our cat, Speedboat was pts on January 25th. One morning this week my husband was standing at the kitchen sink making the morning coffee. He said he heard Speedboat calling him. (Speedboat was a very vocal cat and he always answered with a loud voice whenever he was spoken to). He said the sound was coming from the screened in porch right outside the kitchen window. (In the mornings all three cats were turned inside the screen porch to be fed.) My husband said he looked out but didn't see either one of the two other cats and he knew he had not put them on the porch. They were still outside. Then he said he heard Speedboat calling him again. This just really blows my mind. Has anyone else had this kind of experience.

I wish I had, Barb. Your hubby is a lucky guy to have heard this. Who knows? Didn't Shakespear say something like...there is more that goes on than we will ever know Horatio. I am paraphrasing.
I am happy for both of you to perhaps have received an "all is well" from your buddy!

I hope that my experience helps you ...
On the evening, of the day, when my beloved Bartholomew crossed the Bridge, I went to bed crying.
Suddenly, I heard my boy meow. One loud, clear meow.
He was telling me he was alright.
Our connection, 10 years later, has never been broken. He is always with me.
Speedboat is still with you.

My boyfriend's RB cat, Cato, comes to visit him. He sees him sometimes in the shadows and he jumps on Doug's bed and walks on him or next to him on the sofa or rubs on his leg. And it has happened to him here in my home, too, so I told him Cato's spirit is attached to HIM not to his house. After that he felt better about putting the house up for sale.

Yes, when Nakita passed away I felt her presence many times. One Saturday morning, the toilet paper roll in the bathroom unravelled 3 different times within a 4 hour period. Crazy and undeniably a sign. Even my husband was totally shocked. No other toilet paper roll has done that before or since that time.
Also, one evening a pen in the middle of the kitchen table 'rolled off' and hit the kitchen floor when we were in bed. The pen had a cap on it and would be impossible to roll off and hit the ground. Nakita used to knock everything off that kitchen table before coming to bed at night.
It totally made me a believer and I haven't doubted it since.
And, I wanted to say that Steve sounds and looks like your Speedboat. Steve is also very vocal and loud!

A friend of mine who lost her cat several years ago swore she could feel him lying across her legs when she was in bed two days after he died. Her cat always lay like that and i believed her.
I believe your husband heard Speedboat, because he's letting him know that he crossed the bridge safely

The day my special cat Bubba passed away a chinese meditation ball rolled off my dresser and hit the floor. The Meditation balls were in such a spot on the dresser there wasn't really anyway to get one rolling unless something helped it. He was saying goodbye

I'm sure you remember that I do believe in these things. I could just tell by your posts that Speedboat had a special part of your heart. I'm so glad this happened to your husband. They DO come back to comfort us! They know our love and our pain. I've had cats come back and jump on my bed while I slept and I've had them come to me in my dreams. I hope this has brought you some of the peace you've needed. I am just so happy Speedboat came to visit you
Today is three months since Speedboat crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He has visited us two times. I saw him in my dream which I told about in my post in the thread Do you Dream of Them in this Crossing the Bridge Forum. Then this week is when my husband heard him. Thank all of you for your sweet response. I am glad to know others believe it when I say we have been visited by our cat Speedboat. We still miss him more than words can say. But I feel comforted in knowing he has not forgotten us. We love you Speedboat. You live on in our hearts forever and we will never forget the joy you were in our lives for 14 years. Rest in peace sweet one and know that you are still the love of our lives.

I`m sure they do come back to let us know they are ok
My sister saw her cat a week after he went. I have felt what I thought to be a cat jump on the bed but no-one was there and if I see or hear something strange here I always say, 'Hello Kitty, Hello Maisie' just incase it is them
It`s funny I`ve never dreamed about Maisie but I keep having dreams that Kitty is at the vets or in a cat shelter and I forgot to go get him

OMG, and I thought I was crazy. Its such a relief to know that other people have had these experiences too.
After I put Zorro down, for two months he stayed in my house. I would wake up at night and see him walking around the house. Sometimes he would jump on my bed, and you could actually feel the mattress depress. I would hear him calling to me (he had a very distinct mrrrrrr like call).
A year later, he actually visited with me. I was almost asleep, and all of a sudden it was like I was in a trance. We were on a beautiful, sunny beach that I had never seen before, and he told me that he was ok, and that he didn't blame me for putting him down (i had been blaming myself). He also told me that he was very happy because now he was pain free, and could run and jump. He also told me how much he loved me, and how thankful he was for me taking him in adn looking after him. We talked for what seemed like forever, then he told me he had to go, but would visit again soon.
I havn't had another 'dream' like that since, but I'm still hoping he will visit me again like that.
Every once in a while though, I will see him walking around my new appartment, or calling to me in the middle of the night.

Yes, my sweet Tessie girl came to see me about three different times after her death. We moved to a different house about a year later and I wondered if she would visit me there and she did. I felt her walking on the bed and all around my head the way she used to and purring. It was very real. She used to have a habit of coming to my side of the bed at around 4 a.m. every morning and she would claw on the side of the mattress for me to reach down and lift her up (after she got old and arthritic). One morning at about that time I woke up to the sound of her claws and was in the midst of throwing the cover back and reaching out for her........
My experiences do have a little twist that I haven't seen anybody else speak of. I think Tessie tried to help me let go. I had such a hard time with her death because she had been with me almost 22 years. The last time I experienced one of her visits I saw her walk out my bedroom door and she turned around and hissed at me. I haven't had a visit since. I choose to believe she was trying to tell me to to let go and get on with my life. I know that sounds weird because we had a very loving relationship. And we still are connected - for reasons I won't go into here I know without doubt she is still with me. She will always be here.
I have two beautiful purr boys now and they are special to me but there will never be another Tessie.

Last year I lost two of my beloved cats within a month of each other. Spook, who had been ill with hyperthyroidism for some time (he did not respond to treatment and was considered too ill and old to withstand surgery) and Topsy, my other black cat to kidney failure. Both were 13 years old.
I was standing in the kitchen cooking lunch about 2 months ago when I heard, quite clearly, the unmistakable "miaow" that Spook had.
I have other cats, but none had a distinctive "miaow" (almost Siamese like) that Spook had.
It was his way of letting me know he's still around and that he's alright.
About 10 years ago, a very moth-eaten, skinny stray cat came into our garden. My husband met him first, felt sorry for him and started feeding him. It wasn't long before Toby decided we were a good place to move into.
He cost us a small fortune on vet's bills, we had to get his injured tail fixed and while he was under anaesthetic, he was neutered at the same time. Toby turned into a beautiful, handsome cat, even though our vet thought he was probably around 14 years old. He stayed with us for 4 years until one Sunday morning, he was curled up on the chair, stood up, stretched and wandered out into our back garden.
He was never seen again - at least in this life.
He wandered into our home and hearts - and wandered out again. Despite searching, even getting our dog to look for him, we never did find him.
A few months later, I had a strange dream.
I found myself in a kitchen I didn't recognise. There was a tall lady there who I also did not recognise but she had a Egyptian look to her although dressed in a red sweater and denim jeans.
She said Toby was OK and pointed. There, happily eating was Toby (Toby was very fond of his food). He stopped eating and ran to me, jumped up and put his paws round my neck just as he did while he lived with us. He was purring for all he was worth.
I woke up feeling sad but happy at the same time.
A few weeks later, I found myself in the same kitchen with the same lady. Toby was there, happily eating again. The lady said that she was looking after Toby until we could meet again and I was to stop worrying about what happened to him as he had passed into Spirit due to old age. He had gone to his favourite spot in the woodland behind our house, curled up and slept the long sleep.
I knew Toby was doing just fine and when I woke, the feeling of loss and grief I had felt for many months was gone.
I remember Toby now with happy memories and can laugh and smile as I remember his antics.
He was a grand old boy, probably aged about 18 when he passed over.
We were blessed that we were able to give Toby a loving, happy, comfortable life for his last years
