Here are the latest pictures. Many have complimented the pictures I have posted but my digital camera deserves most of the credit. It can focus at 1/2"!! If you look close you can see my living room in Tiki's eye!

Hope you all have a great day!

You really have a talent for photography, and a beautiful model, to boot. Ever think about submitting them to Cat Fancy, etc?

Inside, they have a small blurb about how to submit photos. I have heard they tend to lean towards their subscribers first, but that just may be chaff in the wind.

nc - Please try - would love to have a 'famous friend'.
I don't know anything other than what Hissy has said about submitting.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the information. I'll go out and buy a Cat Fancy magazine. Here is the full version of the eye picture. Doesn't it look like she is posing for a senior yearbook picture?

You don't know how long I've tried to take a photo of my Sateycat just like the first photo you posted (of Tiki's mouth and nose). Satey has this darling little patch under his mouth where the hair's thinned out and when he sleeps it puffs up ever-so-slightly. I want a photo of it to remember when he's gone.

I always love looking at your posts, Nitecrwlr.

Taking pictures of a cat can be unbelievably frustrating at times. They finally do the perfect pose, but you miss it because it only lasted 2 seconds. It took me about 10 shots, and alot of attention getting noise making, to finally get the pic of her mouth! Don't give up!

I would LOVE to help you out with any info you are looking for. I use a Nikon Coolpix 990. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikoncp990/ I paid $900 1 year ago. It was discontinued last month but you can still find it new and on ebay. Used price $700-500. The best features are great macro (closeup) and a swivel lens. It can focus to about 1/2". The images print close to film quality up to 8x10. If the pictures are only for web posting you can get away with a much less expensive camera. The other half of the equation is learning a good image editing program. Adobe Photoshop is THE standard but is quite expensive. Paint Shop Pro is a good alternative. I could talk about this stuff for days, but i'd better get to bed.
I can give you much more info once I know your price range.

A guy my age could get beat up for looking at a Cat Fancy magazine when an issue of Hot Rodder is within reach. Maybe I should opt for a subscription?!
