New to this site because I realized that, despite my love of cats and copious amount of time spent on the internet, I have not yet joined a cat site! This is problematic.

I'm Kathryn, I'm 22 and live in Pennsylvania. I'm graduating college in May and then off to who knows what, since I have no direction and no idea what I'm doing next. But I'm only 22, so I find the whole concept of "you have to know EXACTLY what you want to do with the rest of your life RIGHT NOW" a bit preposterous. I'm a classical musician (oboe, flute, bassoon), sometimes, a fiction writer, most of the time, and a spontaneous actress on the rare occasion that I can be. I'm an avid lover of the feline, of course, a proponent of cat rescue, and have been dubbed the crazy cat lady at the tender age of...well, 22.

I have two cats at the moment. Dukhat is a maine coon mix (we think) who was found abandoned at a campground as a kitten. He's my baby. He's a big handsome man with a fluffy butt and giant tail. Right now he is sulking because I just got a new cat and he is not happy with me. My other cat is Galen, a siamese/tonkinese mix I got from a siamese rescue. He is adjusting well to his new home, talking a great deal, and he and Dukhat chase each other all around the house. I have enough love in my heart for all the kitties in the world, but Dukhat right now doesn't believe me!

Welcome to you and your babies!
I'd love to see pics of them
By the way, I'm 28 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Welcome,
I don't think any of us know what we want to be when we grow up (if we ever do). But cats are great help to remind you don't forget to to stop and take a nap once in a while. I hope you like it here in this great big group of cat lovers, can never have enough cats or cat lovers.
Again welcome,
Jae

Hi Kathryn, Dukhat and Galen. Thanks for joining us here. Having once inflicted two six-year-old males on a fourteen-year-old female who had never before shared her human, I think I know where Dukhat is coming from, but I'm confident he'll get over it.

As for not knowing what you want to be when you grow up, my husband always says when he grows up he wants to be a little boy -- he's 66. Don't let 'em rush ya!

This is a pretty nice community full of crazy cat ladies (and guys!), and you sound just crazy enough to fit in fine. Make yourself at home. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Oh, yeah -- pictures somebody said. We love 'em!

Exactly! I will figure out what I want to be eventually, society, and when I do, I'm sure I'll be great at it. I am just not a fan of this pressure to make this decision right now! I'd make a great nomad, wandering around the country in an RV, but that's too expensive

Well, soon I'll get a picture of Galen, but right now all I have is pictures of Dukhat. Here's a recent shot of boy:

We think he's a Maine Coon mix because he's so huge, but we can never be sure since he was randomly found on a campground. But that's my boy, and I love him so much <3

Yeah, my Dukhat is way too cute for his own good. He's huge and acts like a kitten, so he's a giant fluffy adorable cat. He can roll over, and my roommate and I will shake our heads at just how adorable he is.
Still haven't managed to capture a shot of Galen. Dukhat hams it up for the camera, and right now we're still working on socializing Galen enough where he'll stick around for us.
