I have been looking for instructions on how to post pictures. I don't use photo bucket. I have pictures stored on my computer and wonder if there is some way to post from my computer. I don't want to post something and it be too big. Can someone help me please. There is a thread Post Your Sleeping Cat and I really wanted to put Speedboat there.

The instructions are in this thread: How to post pictures

Generally, it's much easier to post using Photobucket or a similar image hosting site, as the photos uploaded there are automatically resized. There are free accounts. http://photobucket.com/

I have tried to use the instructions I was given to post pictures. Still, I have not been able to figure it out. I tried to post from the computer but when I clicked on the manage your attachments and then clicked on the browse button and uploaded the picture it attaches in a pop up window, not on the reply page. So then I uploaded some pictures to Photobucket. I clicked on the picture and copied the web address for the picture. Then when I got to this reply window, there was no IMG button above the box where I wanted to post the picture. I am sorry to be so dense, but can someone please help me. Thank you.

The button you are looking for above the reply window is this one . If you are having difficulty using it, you can simply paste the code that you picked up from Photobucket into your message as is, and then add [img]...[/img] tags. You should be able to pick up the code from Photobucket with the [img] tags already in place, by using the last set of code offered, and paste into your post without having to do anything, but if you get the wrong string, you can adjust it.

The actual image code for that little button is

To turn it into the image you add [img] to the front and [/img] to the back, without spaces.

Does that help?

If you're adding an attachment from your computer, you're right, it doesn't show up in the "reply" box. However, if you click on "Preview Post" you should be able to see it. Then it will also show up in the post when you "Submit Reply".

Photobucket changes things on me once in a while. Currently, when I upload an image there is a button to "Save & Share". Click on that and I get a page where I can send the image to Facebook or Twitter or any of the other sites that I don't use. There is also a list under the picture with codes for IMG, email, etc. Click in the box with the IMG code and it will automatically copy it for you so you can paste the code into the reply box on TCS.

If I don't copy the code immediately, when I go to the album I have to run the mouse over each image to get a dropdown menu with the codes.

If you click "share" above the photo, and then go to the tab "Get link code", there's an option down the bottom to "always" show the link(s) in your albums.
