Am I supposed to get 2 forms? They sent one, I filled it out. Sent it back. Then I get another one like 10-11 days later
It looks the same except the envelope was slightly different. Anyone experience this as well? Was I scammed???
Did they make a boo boo by sending it out twice?
Sooooo confusing

Some people were scammed, I seen it on the news, the spoof form asks different questions trying to get your SS# or banking info
I would contact them to confirm they got your form, they will send someone out if they dont get the form back so they do track it

Thank you. I hate contacting them because it's a stupid huputer (human computer, that's my name for it) auto-voice nonsense saying fakely-sweetly "If you are calling about xxxxxxx, please say XxXxX or press 1" I'm like scru you. I hate that stuff with a passion. Then of course I tried pretending like I don't have a touch tone phone and it says "Please call back using a touch tone phone", then it hangs up
How sweet of them
. Double eff you U.S. Government!! Give me a @#&! human.

Honestly I don't remember what questions were asked. All I remeber clearly was the whole thing was short and took less than 10 minutes. I remember thinking "How strange." Perhaps I should've made a photocopy. Oh well. P.S. I did not send back the 2nd form. It's still here.

There's more than one census form, and its possible there could have been a screw up and you got two different ones. Here's a web site that talks about how to avoid census scams.

I think if anything asks for full social security number or anything like bank account information, its a scam. Even the very long form doesn't ask for social security number.

You know what's funny? I told DH about this thread and how I didn't think it was any of their business if I owned outright or if I had a mortgage. He filled it out and had it sealed up so I couldn't have any say!
All I could do was mail it!

We need to participate in the census in order to get representation in our government.

If I'm represented I'll have a voice about these other issues - including what questions are asked on the census next time, --- I hope.

We made a deal in our house, hubby would fill out the census form while I did the taxes. Wonder who made out on that deal?

We never got the census form and a census taker cam to the house this afternoon.
I asked why we didn't get a form and its due to the area we live?? We live in a old indian tribe boundary and no one regardless of ethinicity received a census. Also something about not enough people again in this area completing the 2000 census.

Had a nice chat the census taker was a recent Texas transplant so not familiar with the area and asked who had mean dogs!

I read the whole link and it does put my mind at ease somewhat.

However I do wish I could remember if the form I mailed back asked me for my Social Security number or the last 4 digits of my Social Security number. I don't think it did
but my memory's not perfect.
I will not fill out the 2nd one.

You know what? I just got a second form in the mail yesterday. It looks like the exact same form I already filled out. The only questions on either of them were number of people in the house, own or rent, telephone number, and then name, age, sex, race of each person and whether or not they sometimes live somewhere else. Nothing about social security number or any other person information.

I don't know if I need to fill the second one out or not - I'll have to do some googling when I get back to see if there's any info out there.

He did. Only ten questions that he could still answer correctly after drinking a sixpack, in about 5 minutes.

I hear the quickest way to get a human on those systems is to ask for Spanish, or some other language. You can bet they'd be bilingual and speak English just fine. The other thing I often do is just hit "0" and hope for an operator.

Our Government at work. Well, I guess if you fill it out again, you could be counted twice ??

It could very well be that the second one came from another mailing list, or it may be that you have listed your address slightly differently somewhere, or there might be a typo at the post office, or... Well, you get the idea.

It might even be that they are sending out a second round to addresses that have not yet responded. Much cheaper than sending out an interviewer right away.

We also got two forms. I wonder if they had a date by which if they have nto received your form back they sent another one. I trashed number two.
I didn't like the question of if you own your home and have a mortgage. I don't think it is anybody's business. I don't see why they would need to know that.

LOL, it wouldn't be their first blunder.

I do remember the strange "return envelope" that was sent with the first form. It didn't have a return address, only a window that displayed a weird bar code. You had to stick the form into the return envelope in a certain way for the bar code to show through the hole. On the second return envelope (which is still in my house), there is a return address and no cut out hole - An address in Maryland I think. Our government makes me chuckle with cynicism

Well since they said to include who is living in your house on April 1, we didn't send it in until after that date. I didn't expect anyone else to be living in my house by April 1, but you never really know, do you? Kinda stupid to send another one out so soon if that's the reason.

How much money has been wasted on this census so far?

They'll be used to assign you to the correct FEMA re-education camp when the UN takes over the US.

For fear of repeating myself - NOT-
,

We need to make sure we are represented - the census counts (no pun intended) ... who and how many we send to represent us is important for our future ... fill out the simple form and send that baby in if you want your voice to be counted.
