darlili - Thank you I am so proud of her she has been a great mother!

Update for today - Mya and all 5 kittens are doing very good All 5 kittens have been nursing very well, and Mya has been taking very good care of them..Last night after Mya had the 5th kitten, I changed her bedding in her box and got everyone comfy then Mya went into my sons room and got on his bed..then she came back to her kittens and started taking them to my sons bed..lol..I was so shocked that she did this, I really thought she would want to keep the kittens away from the kids, but she was trying to take them to the kids lol..Needless to say I put the kittens back in the box, of course she followed..My oldest son is 10 years old and my youngest is my 4 year old daughter..so this is why I was very shocked that she would try to take her babies to my 8 year olds bed.

I called our vet this morning to give him the update on Mya and the 5 kittens I also set up an appointment with him to get her fixed as soon as the babies are weaned and when its safe for Mya

When Mya was having her kittens it hurt her so bad with having the broken pelvis I never want her to go threw that again

OMG congrats, they are ADORABLE!!!

Update on Mya and her kittens

Mya and all 5 of her kittens are doing very well I am so happy!!
When Mya had the 2nd kitten on friday, it came out tail first She had problems pushing its head out, so it was stuck in the birth canal for a little to long We finally got it out and I had to work on it for quite awhile it was having trouble breathing I didnt have a bulb syringe (something I didnt think to have on hand) So I went to the store and bought one, by the time I got back the kitten was crying VERY loudly I had waited an hour and the kitten still had not nursed..So I called my vet and he said to give it 2 hours and if it didnt nurse then to go buy some supplement kitten milk for it..I waited the 2 hours and the kitten still had not nursed so I went to our pet store and bought the supplement and a bottle when I got back the kitten was nursing That kitten is a little tease lol..But now it is doing great as well as all the rest of the kittens..My kids named it lucky they said because its lucky to be alive lol Just wanted to update everyone on how Mya and her kittens were doing..so glad to be able to say they are all doing wonderful

I will be posting some more pictures today..I am trying to get pictures of them individually ..they are all SO CUTE!!

You don't have to, but a lot more people will see them. Some people check out new pictures every day but rarely look at the Pregnant Cats forum. It just depends on where their interest is.
You can also put them up on the fur pictures and put the link on a forum here, or vice versa

They look adorable!! I wish we could see them more clearly to enjoy more of that cuteness!!
I couldn't take good pictures of my foster kittens (they are now 5 weeks old) when they were born because it was too dark and I am not very good with a camera, and now I kind of miss when they were that tiny and vulnerable.
Congratulations to Mya and you for taking care of these precious babies.

Awww! Such adorable bundles of fur!

I have a cat that broke her pelvic about a year ago. my vet never gave her any stool softener and she never appeared to need it. I'm really glad everything worked out great for you all. freckles was already spayed before her injury so I will not have to go through all that with her.

Update - Mya and all 5 kittens are doing great 1 kitten has its eyes completely open and another has its eyes half way open Still waiting on the other 3 to start opening their eyes

The kittens turned a week old this past Friday March 26th
They are all gaining weight wonderfully!!

I do have a question I had called the vet a few days after Mya gave birth and asked what I could feed her to put some weight on her, she looks awfully thin to me. I know with the kittens nursing its taking alot out of her..but isnt there something that I can do to help even a little bit? The vet told me to feed her kitten food, we are doing that but I havent noticed any weight gain just yet.

Anyone have any ideas? If so please let me know
Thanks So Much!
Kitten food is best because it's higher calorie. Just make sure it's available to her any time she wants to eat. Don't try to measure or restrict portions.

Thanks Goldycat

I havent been doing any type of portion amounts or anything..I make sure her bowl is full every day with food..and she is allowed to eat however much she wants

Hoping to start seeing some weight gain here soon
post #57 of 59
You could also give her some KMR(Kitten milk replacement) to give her some extra calories, although that stuff isn't exactly cheap...
