Hi all. Just wanted to show you a pic of my new baby.

I've named him Bailey. He's so sweet! I figure he's about 6 weeks give or take a week. He showed up yesterday in my girlfriend's backyard. She lives way out in the country and has no idea where he came from ... no neighbors anywhere even remotely close. Her husband refused to even allow him in the house. She was so heartbroken. Her cat died in February and she really wants another purrbaby. So I brought him home.

It can't be seen in this pic, but his tail is gray, his ears are gray, and he has a gray spot on his right shoulder. He's got the biggest ears! The kids were calling him Gizmo and Yoda because of his ears.

OF COURSE! Why didn't I see that -- van markings. Duh! You don't suppose ... naw, can't be a "true" Van, could he? I know, I'll put him in a tub of water and see how he swims. *joke* He is so sweet and laid back; like a ragdoll in my arms.

Here's a better picture

how sweet!!!

I love the last one, it's so cute when kittens have that "confused" look. How adorable
And good on you for giving him a home

What a cutie! He is so lucky to have found you! I wonder where his mum went, and his siblings
Has she seen any signs of them?
What a stricht husband your friend has, not to let her bring the kitten in, or maybe just keep it!

Well, my friend's husband can be a poop that way. He said she could keep it but only in the barn. She said she couldn't stand knowing that he would be in the barn in the dead of winter. She felt much better knowing that he was going home with me.

No signs of mum or littermates; perhaps he's a drive-by drop? I hate it when people do that, it ticks me off to no end!

I have to tell you, he's so damn cute I could gobble him up. If you just look at him he purrs and rolls over.

I do have one concern. He hasn't christened his litter box, or anything else for that matter. He's eating good and he's drinking a lot of water (probably dehydrated,) but nothing's coming out. I brought him home last night about 6:00 ... Any thoughts?

He'll make his first visit with the vet tomorrow ... let's hope he's fit as a fiddle and ready for love.

What a cutie!
He looks a LOT like my 'lil boy, Elmo!

don't you think so?
(I mean apart from hair length and marking colour?)...Keep in mind that 'Mo's squinting 'cause he was lying with the sun in his eyes. He has big, round eyes like Bailey's. They went from a greenish blue to a stunning golden colour. It would be cool to see if Bailey's eyes turn golden like 'Mo's did.

He is mostly legs and ears. We talked yesterday about whether he would grown into them or not.

His eyes are already an amber color. He doe's look a lot like your Elmo.

He piddled in his potty-box today. It took him 3 trys until he got the hole scooped just right. When he finished he covered it up. He did his business like he was an old pro. I'm such a proud mama. Now if he would just deposit a #2, I would feel better.

I agree with your friend, I could not let the kitty live in the barn. Actually I would be very dissapointed and upset if my husband would set that kind of rules.

It is terrible of people to drop off kittens like that. I cant understand how they can just drop them off and not know what happens to them, even if they live.

I hope the litterbox will be in use soon, and that everything will be go well at the wet.
