Hi there!
I've never been much for talking about myself so I'll just say hi.. and talk about my cats. Heh. I have three of them and all were shelter rescues. Tempest and Squall were found the same day in November of 2002 (best way to spend birthday money ever!) and Miewjhur was found July of last year.
Tempest - Tempest Marie when she's in trouble - was nine months when I got her and a total nut for attention. She's eight and still does anything for a little love and really has no personal bubble. Like most shelter cats she's a mix, mostly Bombay. Her fur is black aside from white armpit hair and a white triangle on her lower belly. She's got a very mothering personality and grooms anything with fur or feathers. I think that's her main drive to play/fight really, she'll pin the others just to groom them and she's ruined many of Miew's feather toys that way.
Squall was six weeks old and though I offered to do a fostering setup with him so as to avoid neutering too early they decided against it. As a result he's kept a very kitten-like personality. His favorite toys ended up being sticky lizard toys meant as a toy for human kids to stick on walls. He throws them around and buries them so as to find them later. He's roughly twenty pounds though he's not fat just big. He loves to cuddle and he'll cuddle with myself and my father, purring away and suckling on his paw. He's a brown tabby American Shorthair. Oh and he seems to be a Bogart fan.
Miewjhur is my little nutjob. She's about eight months, give or take. The shelter tried to tell me that she was eleven weeks when I picked her up but I knew she had to be about six, like Squall had been. She was a touch under a pound and because of that the shelter let me do a foster situation with her. She was spayed at three months and just about three pounds. She's a ball of fire and has one hell of an attitude when she's pissed, hissing, spitting and yelling. She's a Lynx Colorpoint but I still can't decide color as finding good photos to references against online have been hard to find thus far.
They're all indoor with occasional runs outside (Tempest gets out the least as she loves roll in the dirt and thus ends up taking baths). They're all spayed/neutered. I rub 'em down with damp towels from time to time but I admit I don't brush them often but hairballs are rarely, if ever, a problem. They're all on Purina One and aside from a respiratory infection Squall came with and the ringworm that Miew came with they've all been in wonderful health. Miew is also something of a road kitty, I took her on many of my road trips when she was younger and will return to doing so once the weather returns to something sane.
So there they are, my babies. I'm putting together a collection of their photos to share (offsite, if that's okay, so as not to kill anyone's system). Thanks for reading and I'm sure I'll have a great time here.
