I feel so bad for the USA team!
They look so defeated. They worked hard, and they played well, and came so close.

Still, Silver is nothing to sneeze at either!
They should be very proud.

The city has gone crazy! We're about 5 km out from town, and the honking and hollering has made its way out here. Of course, this cannot possibly hold a candle to the hullaballoo downtown.
I can't imagine what it must be like there.

Amazing game!!!
Both teams should be very proud and that last goal could have been either team.

I'm not even a hockey fan but was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Yay, Canada! Wonderful way to end the Olympics for the host country!

Fran, I'm so glad I'm over here and the 'hullaballoo' is over there!

Was listening a bit on TSN and they said they could hear the roar inside the broadcast building, then someone opened the door a smidge.....couldnt hear Briam Williams but sure heard the roar, and that was before the crowd got really big.

OMG Fran, I can only imagine!
I didn't watch the game myself, but I was online when suddenly I heard horns honking and people cheering out on the street and thought "oh we must have won!". DH came home from his hockey watching party very happy. Glad it was such a nail biter, makes it all the more exciting!

Congrats to Team Canada.

I'm very happy with the performance of US hockey after the last few Olympics. They played well and hard during the whole tournament. I'm proud of them.

Now, it's back to the NHL grind and then on to the best postseason in professional sports- the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I heard there was a pretty nifty street party in TO, too! They were still at it when we left town at 10 pm, and the Canada Line was full of revellers, complete with cowbells and horns and "O Canada!" in about 87 different keys. What a hoot!

Congratulations to Team Canada!
How very fitting that Sid scored the winner.

The OT was some of the most exciting hockey I've seen in a long time. I think I'd love to see more 4 on 4 hockey.

There was some radio talk last night as to whether or not the NHL will shut down and allow the players to play in the 2014 Games in Russia. I think they should or the NHL risks alienating not only the current Russian players but also the players who had the courage to buck the political system and break down the barriers in getting to the NHL.
