Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Due to these freak snow storms I finally got my butt outside and took some pictures of what my area of Central Pa looks like! Its muddy gross wet and COLD out here but I got some good pictures. I even took a quick video of Franklin running in the snow before I realized outside cat was by the barn and I had to scoop the dog up and run for the house. Outside cat scared the bejeepers out of me and I know he doesnt like the dog so I always keep Franklin in when we feed outside cat. I did get some good pics of the cat though. I wish I had more money because Id attempt to not lose an arm and catch him neuter him and socialize him into being an inside cat. If that didnt work he would be turned into a garage kitty for BF to kill the mice in his garage. Oh the perks of farm life!! LOL Anyways enough rambling....Here are the pictures of good ole Pa!!!!

Looking across the plowed corn field. My bedroom window looks out this side and lemme tell ya I get freaked out in the summer...Too many Children of the Corn movies LOL!!!!

My super muddy driveway...Ewwwwwwwwww

Looking up towards Brush Valley Rd and the church. Talk about winter wonderslush!

The back of my house looking towards BFs car shed and garage.

Winky Doodle all snazzy in his winter coat playing in the snow!!!

My beat up Outside Cat (he has no name but is obviously well fed by me and BF)

And lastly the video. Turn down your volume I had to call Franklin over and he only listens when I baby talk him so its loud and goofy sounding....

Franklin is adorable! Wiggies was startled into meowing when I played your video.
Your outside kitty does look well fed indeed.

Hes a BIGGGG kitty. We havent named him so far but we are quite attached to him. We think he gets afraid we are going to leave him (someone had him as a pet and left him when they moved) and he likes to run in front of us and then flop on the ground and roll around meowing. I get scared of him because once when I was trying to get inside he scratched me and then once when BF was trying to get inside he attacked him. Not a full out growling attack but a good blood drawing swat of the claws. I feel horrible for him because hes stuck outside but Ive never had to do any real stray socializing or anything like that and I worry that my 2 boys inside already would instigate a full out attack on him or vis versa. Him and Hercules talk to each other and make lovey eyes thru the bay window all the time and when GiGi is out on the front porch and he is outside she loves to shake her booty at him thru the glass door. Someday somehow I hope Ill be able to get him neutered and inside but until then he always has food at my house and a bed in the barn!

That Franklin is a cutie in his winter coat. Looks so cold in your pics. Ready for spring yet?

No-Name is gorgeous. Looks like you're doing a good job taking care of him, too!

Franklin's a cutie. He's looks so cute in his coat.

And yep, that's definitely central PA! Good pictures!

Poor baby - so sad that someone just left him behind. I'm really glad you're taking care of him.

He might be "swatty" because he gets overstimulated, or he's just so attention-hungry. Plus, from the looks of those marks on his face, he's had a tough time of it outside. And who knows if he possibly suffered some abuse, in addition to neglect, from the losers who abandoned him.

If his "bed" in the barn is straw or even hay, that's great. If it's inside a little box (wood is best) to retain heat, even better. Fabric just absorbs moisture so it's very cold to lie on.

I think it's wonderful that you're taking care of OC (Outside Cat). Though it's hard to believe, spring is coming. An unneutered kitty will roam and get into fights and all sorts of trouble, in addition to bringing more unwanted kittens into the world. Best to get him neutered ASAP. If you can't pick him up or get him into a carrier in order to be neutered, find a drop trap to borrow. They are excellent for hard-to-catch kitties. PM me if you need more info.

Enjoyed your pics - the video was adorable! Good luck with your big outside boy.

Trapping him wouldnt be an issue. All Id have to do is put food in our carrier while hes outside and he would go right in. The issue is the financial end of getting him fixed. I could get an appt easy as pie at the low cost clinic but we are negative $200 a mth as it is just on 3 bills alone plus the fact that BF had to get oil in his garage (to work) and now has to pay off the $250 balance before he can get more oil. It just sucks. I am hoping that I can put enough money aside selling some crochet projects that Ill have enough to get him done for the summer. I think OC is gorgeous and has the potential to be a great lovey dovey cat if not inside atleast in BFs garage. So fingers crossed Im hoping this summer Ill be able to get him fixed. Oddly enough though we have never seen any kittens roaming around the farm. Nor have we seen any hit on the side of the road. Ill try to be optimistic about it and hope there are just no female cats around especially since OC is the only cat (aside from GiGi) to have ever wandered on our property. We even leave his food outside for him at all times unless its snowing or raining then we only put it out when he is at the door. I would let him on the front porch but he sprays everything and I dont want him to spray the wood there that we burn inside. It would make the house reek

Those are great pics. Your barn kitty looks like he is well fed and loved. As long as he is well fed and has a place to get into its good.

I love Pa. We have travelled to various places there. The Grand Canyon of the East, Pine Creek Gorge. We used to go to the Kinzu area. Wellsboro, Bradford. It's so beautiful there.

I was reading recently about Centralia. Are you near there? I think it is such a sad story how the people were all forced to move away. Those fires are incredible. I told my husband it would be a nice fall trip down there. I'd love to actually see the "ghost town".
