Another cleaning teeth thread, sorry!!

I have tried everything and Tessie still will not let me brush her teeth. She is so good about everything else but hates it when I try and clean her teeth. I have tried slow with just my finger and toothpaste for about 3 weeks.
Someone told me here at work that If I feed her a raw chicken neck once a week, that should help. Is this true?
Thanks!

Has your vet ever been concerned with Tessie's teeth?

I do not brush Abby's teeth and we haven't had any issues yet. She is only around 5 years or so. My last cat had many, many issues with her teeth. She was a stray and we didn't know her history. She also got a completely different diet than Abby gets.

I went to the vet a month ago or so and her teeth are in good condition but they wanted me to try and clean her teeth at least every other day as a preventative. Dental in MA is VERY expensive ($300 just to clean the teeth).

Its ok Sharky, lol. I used my finger to rub her gums with the tooth paste and then I have attempted to brush them with the little cat tooth brush that comes with the kit. She absolutely hates it!
Thanks!

My boys hate it. My response: tough. Too bad. They get it done anyway. Even if you swipe the enzymatic toothpaste into her mouth it helps. The saliva helps move it around.

An enzymatic dental treat once a day - if she will eat them - helps, too. CET or Petrodex....
