I am SO happy today everyone! It looks like my wonderful foster cat, Gumbi Jane, has found a forever home! I posted an ad for her online and this is the email conversation I had this morning:Her: Hi,
I was just wondering if Little Gumbi Jane has found a home yet? I've looked at her picture I don't know how many times and I fall in love with her a little more each time. I have 2 older cats a male 12 and female 10 and if she hasn't found a home I would love to add her to our happy little home. You can e-mail either way if she has found a home that would make me happy and if she hasn't ...well that would make me really happy

Sonia
My reply: Sonia, you have NO IDEA how happy you have made me this morning!
Gumbi Jane is still in need of a home as there has been no interest at all and it was breaking my heart! In fact, I am willing to sponsor her spaying fee, so all you would have to pay to adopt her is her $25 adoption fee which will include her vaccination, deworming and microchip. That's how much I want this girl to find the right home. She has been to the vet, Dr. Thompkins of Fundy Animal Hospital, and just finished her round of Clavamox for her cold. She is still a little stuffed up but is getting better every day. As I said in her ad, she has few teeth left and Dr. Tompkins said she would eventually lose them all, but it doesn't stop her from eating. She loves treats too, she inhales them, lol. She has a bald spot at the tip of her tail, but Dr. Thompkins said it is nothing contagious, that it was likely an old injury and that the fur should eventually grow back. So even though the poor girl has been through all of this, she is by FAR one of the sweetest girls I have ever known. She purrs ALL the time, headbutts like crazy and always has that sweet little tongue of hers sticking out.
So, if you are truly interested in adopting her, you would just need to go into the ARL and fill out the adoption application. When it asks which cat you want to adopt, just let them know it is Kailie's foster cat and they will know which one she is. I'm not sure if you're familiar with their process but once they have the application, they hold it for 24 hours before approving it. Once it is approved, I'll meet you right at the League with your new baby! You sign the paperwork, the fees are paid, she gets her shot and you can take her home and everyone lives happily ever after! LOL
If you have ANY questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call me or email me. My cell is 333-****. You can also call the League if you have any questions for them. I can't wait to hear back from you!
Kailie
Her: I'm so excited right now! I even have her as my screen saver at work!
We're going to fill out the application tonight if we can get there in time. I just a have a few questions though...not that it really matters but I want to know what to expect with her... is she ok with other animals? Like I said I have 2 cats but I occasionally have 2 little dogs that visit me as well. Is her kitty cold contangious? Is there a special food she likes that I should buy before I get her? Also ... Can I see her?? I really would like to meet her before I take her home. My fiance really wants to meet her as well. Not because I'll change my mind but because I've been thinking about her for days now and I just really would like to see her.
Let me know if that's possible, it's fine if it's not I'll understand.
Thank you so much Kailie!
Sonia

I replied back and told her that Gumbi Jane still needs to be seperated until she is fully recovered and that she can either stay with me until then or go with her if she has the space. She is going to come hopefully tonight or tomorrow to meet her and I am REALLY hoping that everything goes well! Please send those vibes!

I'll see what I can do.

They can't wait to take her home! I have their signed application form in my hand and will be taking it to the shelter in the morning, so she should go to her new home within the next couple days.
