Our cats get a combination of canned and kibble (canned in the morning and afternoon, and some kibble at night-time). I would like some help trying to figure out which of these dry foods is LESS likely to add pudge to an already pudgy 18-month Maine Coon boy.

He has no known health issues, other than a sensitivity to certain foods. I've been through a number of foods that he does seem to have digestive trouble with, and I haven't identified which specific ingredient(s) he has a problem with, but I do know that he can eat both of these with no difficulty.

The choices are:
Natural Balance Green Pea and Duck
Wellness Complete Chicken

I can see that the Wellness appears to be higher in fat, but I think the NB is higher in carbs, and I just don't know how those things balance as far as affecting weight gain.

Thank you!
I would actually suggest kitten foods as they are normally higher in protein and fat which cats need over carbs and a 18 month old coon is still actively growing

Wellness technically has more meat but I will say the extra % of protein is NOT meat but grain... but overall IMHO it has better ingredients ...

You know, I have always knows that Coons matured later than some cats (2, 3, 4 years old?). But somehow I didn't think about that when I transitioned them to "adult" food. Thank you, Sharky, for reminding me!

I'll look for a kitten food with similar ingredients to the all-stages Wellness Chicken (regular blue bag) and give it a try! (Similar ingredients to the blue bag Wellness, because I know the blue bag stuff doesn't give them digestive problems)
