Here are my latest projects.

Hubby saw the tulips and said, "oh, I love those roses!"

They are made of spoons. The leaves are the spoon handles. I will be making other flowers and stuff from silverware in the future because it is fun to work with.

This is a candleholder. There is a little glass cup that fits into the ring so a votive candle can be put in there. It is meant to hang from the wall. I also made it into a picture frame at the request of the co-worker that I will be giving it to. I have made more of these, but they are strictly candleholders.

Please give my your opinions. Is there anything different that I could have done or that you don't like? Since I will be trying to sell stuff like this, I want to know what people think.

Nice things! I wish I could do stuff like that. Mostly I work with fabric or wood.

My husband, who also welds, was given a box of horseshoes by his buddy who used to be a farrier. My hubby made bookends and hooks for coats. He even hung his antique muzzle loader over the fireplace on these hooks. Maybe you could try that kind of thing.

You have a good eye for the potential in simple things like spoons. Great work!

Fabulous items! Love the use of the bike chain, and the finish on the tulips is beautiful.

I like it all and I couldn't give you any advice about changing anything since I know nothing about welding. I do know what I see I like.

I suppose you could put them in the garden. You would have to apply a coat of laquer every year though and the part that would go in the ground would probably rust. I would probably make the stems longer for them to go in the ground though - maybe.

I love the tulips! Very clever use for some old spoons!
The finish on them is very nice.

They're gorgeous!! You're very creative

I love the bike chain idea too. What a great concept!

Did you get some of your stuff into your friend's store yet?

He is still waiting on his vendor's permit so he can open his business. I am getting a head start in making stuff to sell though. If it doesn't work out, then I will sell the stuff online I guess.

The chain is actually much bigger than bike chain, it is industrial hoist chain, but the same general idea.

Thank you everyone for the nice complements!

Roses? Men!
They totally look like tulips, and they're gorgeous! I can't see anything I'd want to change on either design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being a gardener I say tulips as well!!

One welding project I did and I wish i did more was to take 3/8" (?) rebar cut different lengths from say 24-36" bend them so they are a bit wavy and then weld 3 or 5 of them on flat stock. This would be yard art. My mistake was not to weld stakes on underneath so they can be pushed in the ground.

You do some beautiful work. I do think it would be worth your time to investigate how you could make it worthy for garden or yard art. The tulips especially would make an interesting addition to a garden.
